What fuel mileage are you getting?

08 6.4L Ford F250 w/ a lot of work done to it.

35in Good year Duratrac's, Extra springs in the rear, 3.73 rear end w/ Detroit Tru-Trac locker

15-17 mpg city, up to 22-24mpg High way.

With the 24ft goose neck on, depending the the load 12-15.

13mpg at 65mph sounds like it's running good. Remember the bad old days in the 1970's were the same sized vehicle at that speed would do 4-5 mpg.

Here is the link to its rating on the epa site, unfortunately they don't have a 4WD listed. It is 15MPG combined for a 2WD.

How do I check cat converters?
I think it should be doing better. It has the 5.4 with a 6 speed trany. Other say they are getting 18-20 mpgs by the computer, well I'm measuring the same way.

I have a 2003 F-350 4x4 with crew cab 4-door long wheel base with the 6.0 diesel,, bought it new,, had the bully dog chip installed when I got it,, 60 or 130 horses more,, I get without trailer,, at 70 mph 21.9mpg,, with trailer 17.6 mpg loaded,, in town around 14 mpg but I leave it running if it going to be 15 minutes or less,, most times it more.. I have 93K miles on it.. I only use it for ranch use,, I have it servesed once a year.. Lou

Your mileage is fine for that vehicle. If you had a clogged cat you would be low on power which you said you had plenty of power and you may have a check engine light.

Lou, I have the same truck but a 06. I get about the same as you. 21.6 mpg on the highway and 17 mpg just about every tank. It has a Quadzilla 60/120 HP chip, MAC Intake, and 4" exhaust. I never let it idle. Towing my big boat, 15,600# I get right at 15.5 mpg.

I also have a 08 Nissan Titan. It gets about mid 16's on the highway and about 14mpg average tank to tank. Towing is between 8.5 with 9,700# behind it and with just my car hauler and it loaded it will do just shy of 12mpg.

Chris: My wife drives a 2007 jeep wangler hard top two door, we bought it new in 2007, with all the bells and whistles,, it gets around 15 mpg from tank to tank if I am lucky,, tried to get her to trade it off or just get something else to drive,, but it not going to happen.. Lou
