What happened to Soundguy?

Good to hear he is alive and doing other things.

Not uncommon for people to get a change in life interests...but I have seen others who got tired of the BS from some posters and leave a site. I always find that sad and disappointing as in every case, the person who leaves is far better than those who drove them away.

There was a lady with the Mahindra (GirlWhoWantsaTractor??) who left a few months ago....for that reason. She may not have had much experience but I enjoyed her posts; and being a newbie myself, learned from her.

Just about everyone is going to get sideways with someone at sometime if they have any quantity of posts on TBN. But there should be a monthly allotment to each member of pruned posts and if you exceed that your sign-on should be disabled for a week. Then re-enabled. Something like that anyway to get those members attention.

"load" being the keyword on a lot of them. Where's my boots?

I took a 3 year vacation myself. Got my fill of stupid and dumb posts. I'll 'hang' around for a while and probably be gone again when I get a belly full.

Sometimes I wonder how people can get dressed every morning considering some of the off the wall comments I read on here at times.

Back when we started, it wasn't like that. Like Henro. (I converse with him off line). He don't come on here much anymore and only once in a while is on Orange Tractor Talks. You get your fill of stupidity after a while.

I tried Muhammad's Lawn Mower forum but that was way off the wall with stupidity. Haven't been back there since.

So, Jinman died while I was away? Too bad. Had many post conversations with him. I see the old boy from Texas is still kicking, caught one of his comments the other day. He's slowed way down too.

I really should revise my screen name. Haven't had a 5030 Kubota for years. 2 M900's now. I used them to farm with.

While TBN is a much better environment than much of the web today, unfortunate when that ^ happens. While only a "select" few have made it only to mine, I've found the Ignore List to be a useful feature on here.

My Ford isn't as old as the ones Sguy is legendary for; nonetheless I've also benefited tremendously over the years from his posts. Another person I miss here is Chris, Diamondpilot - helped me (and many others) with trailer questions.

I took a hiatus for the better part of a year (won't go into that)..... hopefully these guys and gals will pop back in later too.....

He posted to a vintage Ford forum this month and proceeding months. I doubt he left with hurt feelings, vintage forums here are just not very active. If you would like to have him drop by,try posting to something he is subscribed to. Since the subject was broached, here's my :twocents:. Online forums of all kinds have increasingly attracted people that believe all they need is to ask and/or watch utube to gain knowledge that require's practice and apprevticing. Unfortunatly members with large post counts feel they should comment on everything that come's by and that set's the mood. From there things go downhill into the swamp. For instance, the question "what size wrenches will I need to disassemble my injection pump"? The answer should be"if you don't know which wrench to use,you will really be lost once inside". Instead, someone asks what kind of tractor they have then proceed telling them what they were told by someone else or on utube.

I find 'boob tube' entertaining but the music that accompanies most video's is poor. Strictly entertainment for me. Little actual value.

I have also moved around to different threads for different reasons. Your interests, priorities, or likes may change or you want a change of scenery....it happens.:dance1:

I did that a few years back when we got into RV'ing. When I came back the first thing I saw on the New Holland forum was the sticky about Jinman's passing. I was shocked and a little upset with myself for not taking the time to check in once and awhile. He was very helpful when I had a problem several years back. It's good to hear Soundguy is ok. I'd like to hear how he likes his new RK55.
