My spelling improved lightyears when I got rid of my PC and moved to a Mac.
What happened to the spelling corrector?

Firefox automatically checks the spelling of words that you enter in text boxes containing more than one line. As soon as you finish typing a word, it is checked against the words in the installed dictionary. If the word is not found in the dictionary, it will be underlined in red. Move the mouse pointer over the underlined word and right click for a list of possible correctly spelled words.

But I still think TBN had a spelling corrector built in until they did their last upgrade and then it disappeared. I think there were 3 different editor modes you could choose from when submitting posts and at least one had a spelling corrector.
I think they had to trade their spelling corrector for the 22 new smilies.
