Still way to muddy for me to take my tractor out. Got a heavy hutch to move with my forks when it dries up a bit.

2 days ago the driveway ice began to melt off and I can start to see my driveway roadmix.

Mornings have been around 10F to 16F and yesterdays high was 28F.

Here's a picture of my exposed driveway I took today.

It's really something seeing all that snow. We just got back from Louisville, and it looks like late spring there, with everything already bloomed. Here, it's just starting to hint at greening up. And Montana...snowville.

In the picture, the fencing to the left/right of the driveway separates the still frozen creek on both sides of the driveway a long with 2 still completely frozen 12" diameter culvert pipes going under the driveway.

It is warming up this morning as the low was only 20F, but we still are burning firewood...

I've been working on a no weld brush guard. I used 1/2" threaded rods and scrap chain link fence top rails. Inside each pipe is a captive washer at both ends, held in place with nuts on each side of the washers, to keep the pipes centered on the threaded rods. I attached the expanded metal screen to it with tie wraps for now, so I can take it apart to paint it. It also folds down to allow the hood to open with plenty of clearance.

My neighbor borrowed my GC1723 to dig a trench to put in a drain in his yard. Only took about one hour to dig this trench. What an awesome machine.

We’re not too far different here. Turned on a faucet a couple of days ago and water came out of the hose for the first time since probably October. The change this week was just about instantaneous, from freezing snowstorms to t shirt and motorcycle weather literally overnight. I’m taking the chains off the GC1720 today. Instant spring almost makes suffering through this winter worthwhile. Sadly, I know a least one lifetime resident, an elderly widow, who has had enough and is moving.
