My previous posts for this UHMW MF2360 Snowblower skid shoe modification project are #759 & #787.

This picture below was from a couple of days ago, and yesterday I finished welding on the blank 1/4" plate that is pre bolted on the right side of the snowblower.

In order to paint the left side plate assembly I had to warm up the plate, and the can of spray paint, and also dry the paint with my 30,000 BTU propane tube heater inside of the garage.

Today I may paint/install the right side plate assembly and this project is pretty much done except for the first operational test.

I have also cut all of the materials for the UHMW skid shoe assemblies and will install them on the Snowblower (I'll use the skid shoes from the Dozer Blade until these shoes are finished).

I have an order to my MF dealer for 16 more spacer washers to be used with these Snowblower skid shoes.

Thanks, originally I was going to make the UHMW skid shoes for the Snowblower similar to ones I've seen that attach to the far left/right sides of the Snowblower.

Only after making the UHMW skid shoes for the Dozer Blade, the light bulb turned on and I jumped down that rabbit hole.

This is going to be helpful if I ever damage one of the skid shoes, I'll have 2 spare shoes to use at that time.

Here's a couple pictures of the UHMW skid shoe design I built:

Yeh, real nice KC. I find just having a tractor one big rabbit hole. Once you got one you wanna do mods, which gets you welding and fabricating and stuff, spending way too much time in the garage...before you know it you're neglecting food and sex. Ok, maybe not that bad.

Howard Hughes used to be a well-groomed sharp-dressed man, with a lovely lady always hanging off his arm. Then, he got into tractors.

Last spring I noticed the hydraulic hoses for the front quick hitch were rubbed a little bit and I started this winter using these hoses.

About 2 weeks ago I noticed these 2 hoses had a little shine and wet look to them, so on the 7th, I order a couple of hoses from "Discount Hydraulic Hose" and just received them today.

They are the same length ( 40" ) as MF and have the same connection ends ( 1 - 3/8" male NPT and 1 - 1/4" male NPT ), but are a better quality hose - 2 wire.

These hoses were $19.76 each custom made for my order input of size, type, length, and end fittings, and shipping was $16.69, for a total of $56.21.

The pressure rating of the hoses are 5,800 PSI, and I impressed with the quick fabrication and delivery of my order, plus the quality of the ends and hose.

I'm not sure what MF would of charged for these 2 hoses, but my guess would of been over twice this amount, since a few weeks ago I got a price for 1 only lynch pin for the MF 2340 Dozer Blade skid shoe spacer pine retainer was $12.60 (MF # 3382825M1 ).

I did purchase a 50 piece lynch pin kit from HF for $6.39 instead of the MF lynch pin.

I also purchased some MF spacers washers from Jack's Small Engines for the skid shoes at $6.07 each instead of the MF price of $7.60 each, MF part # 4263306M1.

I am sure glad for businesses like Discount Hydraulic Hose and Jack's Small Engines that carry MF OEM parts or parts of better quality than MF OEM parts.

I am also glad that these businesses offer reasonable prices...

Here's a picture of my new hoses:

Wow, mail-order hoses... hadn't occurred to me. I'm fortunate that I have an auto parts business with hydraulic hose fabrication capability only about 4 miles away. And yes, both hoses I've had to replace were far more robust than the OEM ones they replaced! Must have been a "lowest-bid" situation. I also had them make up three 24" hose extensions for my BH.

replaced a range lever safety switch. thought I was gonna have to either loosen fuel tank lift inch or pull all shift linkage and side brackets. lucky was able to move cruise linkage a little out of the way (can't remove it w/o pulling range lever) and tear up hand to release old connection.
