What is some of your Pet Peeve's

You guys are really taking the "Pet Peeves" title to heart!!!! :ROFLMAO: :):D:p

I'm one who takes my dog everyplace where it's welcome, and a lot of people like to see a well behaved pup. When Ruger died I had to send a note to the local hardware store... there was no way I was going to just walk in without him.
Still, there were a lot of places where he stayed in the truck. Grocery stores are one place where dogs don't belong- especially in the cart where the next customer is going to be putting food.

I feel the same way about kids. I once walked into the local general store/pizza place where the clerk had her kid behind the counter and was telling everyone "She has mono, and we THINK she's contagious."
It didn't go over well when I told her that if her kid was sick she had no business being behind the counter...

I travel all over the state every week for work and I would say my biggest peaves, at least while driving are the people that camp out in the left lane on the highways, not letting people pass which almost always creates traffic backups and mass frustration. On the two lanes its people that cannot maintain a steady speed, I dont need to go fast but I just want to be able to not have to keep slowing down for people that either dont use cruise control or have no clue how to keep a steady pace. Oh yeah, one more....truckers. I know Ill catch hate for this but they are by far the most inconsiderate and often times dangerous drivers on the road. I was almost taken out by a semi yesterday that crossed completely into my lane head on because he had his phone in his face. Myself and a couple cars behind me had to leave the road almost completely. So much for "professional" drivers.

IME, dogs seem to be welcomed and encouraged at some businesses, such as Tractor Supply and Lowes. (The guy at my feed store threatened to steal him. ) Cashiers, in particular, seem quite happy to see him. Many keep dog treats on hand and ask if he can have one. He often gets an extra treat in a drive-through by sticking his head out of the back window. He really seems to brighten up people's day.

On the flip side, I don't take him inside a food business, and I keep a close watch on him, so he keeps his nose out of any place it isn't wanted.

I have no way of knowing how many people are quietly offended by the sight of him, but he doesn't touch anyone that doesn't ask to pet him.

People have become feral when it comes to dogs. I don't know how we got here.
If you have a couple of 80 lb. dogs chewing on your limbs and knock you to the ground and start snapping at your throat, I bet you will figure it out.

I have no tolerance for a mean dog. One reason I take mine out on public is to socialise him or her. That's also one reason I prefer labs...
Now for a peeve. People who don't clean up after their pets. I place them in the same category as people who toss dirty diapers onto the ground.

Our dog goes into stores which openly allow pets.
She is small and super friendly, but if I see someone giving me the look, I make sure she is restrained properly.
It's good to socialize dogs, but I understand why some are scared.

I got bit when I was pretty young by a German Shepard, yet we got a GS a few years later ans I still miss that dog.

For some reason our dog needs to go into a local distillery every time we walk past :)

We carry those little blue bags with us for accidents. Never leave with her without at least 2.

I got "nipped" by a GSD when I was a kid, just enough to put a hole in my jeans and draw blood. For 25 years I never told anybody as I thought it was my fault even though I was on the town road.
When I got my own dog I finally realized that I had done nothing wrong,
and that he shouldn't have been running around loose while the owner wasn't home.

Still, that would be my second choice of breeds if labs didn't exist.

If there's one person on your butt, they may be the problem. But if there's 5 people on your butt, then you're the problem! :D

The only thing worse than being stuck behind a slow driver, is not being the first in the line, with drivers ahead who are afraid or unwilling to pass. I will occasionally pass the slow driver and the car stuck behind him, if I'm the third in line, but I'm usually driving something of higher than average horsepower.

That truly sucks when having 10-15K on a 35' foot trailer.

My record is seven tightly packed cars on a relatively short section to pass on, but with over 700 hp in a car it was doable.

I hear ya on kids, especially ones who SCREEECH! endlessly in stores or other public places. Parents seem oblivious.

Yes, the line of people behind the one slow dude is obnoxious! Im not afraid to pass them all though if I have the space. Its the curvy sections where I cant pass that drives me nuts. I really dont care if someone wants to drive slow but if there is a mile of cars lined up behind, just move over and let us go about our day. Last year I did witness a state cop get sick of some dude driving 40 in a 55 and he pulled him over so the literal dozens of cars behind him could pass. That was satisfying. 🤣

And I've seen more than one mean Lab. But, I've found that although breed type plays a small role, the responsibility of a dog with good behavior is entirely on the owner. I've seen mean mini poodles as well as Rotts and Pits that were nothing but scratch my tummy babies. Part of the problem is people buying dogs they (the people) are not suited for. Lack the knowledge, energy or time to spend to properly train and socialize their dogs. I won't get into a what breed is best debate because we all know the GSD is the best dog known to mankind ........ 🤣

Yeah, I understand that some tourists wants to admire the views, they are quite nice around here.

But selfish me has already seen them many, many times and I want to get to my destination asap, and it's usually at least 400 miles away. Consequently, I don't even want to go the speed limit, but exceed it.

It kinda sucks when I know it'll be another 20 miles or more before I have a fighting chance to get by on our curvy roads.

Nothing is better than a GSD! It was two years ago today I had to have mine put down. Best girl ever!

I think we'll have to disagree on this. I'll believe you, if you say you've met a mean lab, but I'll insist this is a very rare occurrence. On the flip side, I've only been bit by three dogs in my life, and all three were rottweilers. Can't be a coincidence, given the many hundreds (thousands?) of dogs I've crossed in 50 years.

And watching the local Philly news, I could put money on "Pitbull" every time they tease a story about a dog attacking a kid, and win probably more than 19 times out of 20.

I agreed with everything I read until I got to the last line... so I fixed it for you! :D
we all know the GSD is the second best dog known to mankind...
While there are exceptions to every rule, the owner determines how his dog turns out. As I said before I have no room for a mean animal, yet others take pride in the fact their dogs can't be trusted.

These are bred for hunting, and at 12 weeks they are already doing that, if anything moves in the yard, they are on it!
