What is it, like 85% of car accidents are preventable by Either party; about 10% only preventable by the at fault, and under 5% caused by forces outside of either's control, mechanical or acts of god.

Those are good numbers to keep in mind, if true. Where'd you hear them?

They recently had a work "safety week" with state troopers doing a 2 hour section on vehicle crash prevention.

So, its not like they gave sources, and its possible they pulled the numbers out if their butt

Edit: If they are using their internal numbers, they would be a bit biased, as they investigate interstate crashes, and any other crash involving life threatening injuries; not fender benders, but i dont know that it changes That much?

It's probably been mentioned but my pet peeve is tips.
If a tip is expected then it is a charge. Just add it to the menu price so we see what real cost is going in...
To top it off, yiu want 18% for handing it across the counter? Dunkin, Subway, ect.

Even sit down restaurants now the "click on of the suggested tips" is like 18%, 25%, 33%, or other. It used to be 10% was a cheap tip, a good service tip was 15%; now 18% is considered baseline, and 22-25% is for ok/decent service.

Thats about the only "tip" thing I do; wouldn't have a clue what's expected at a nail place, or barber. Bars, I haven't been in one in years, but a $3 beer, its basically expected to be a $5 beer.

You see these things online calling out "cheap skate" celebrities when they "only" tip 50% for a coffee or whatever. Im not trying to pay Dunkin a "living wage" its not a career, its a high-school kids job. If your 50, and still there, thats not on me

Long peeve and questions so read accordingly recently bought a GMC 1/2'ton sle crew cab paid more for it than my 3/4 ton 10 yrs ago. Understand inflation etc. However the 10 speed automatic blew a transmission line driving down the freeway didn't notice a spike in transmission temp on display, did notice a bit of smoke coming from the rear of the truck, stubbornly figured it was it's first regen on the 3.0 pulled into a wayside cuz my youngest had to use the facilities. Cab filled up with transmission fluid smoke. Underneath looked like the exon valdez grounded there. Called gm roadside assistance they don't haul trailers, I was towing a small single axle maybe weighed 2k total 50 miles from my home. So called a friend gave me a ride home picked up my wife's kia drove back picked up and hauled trailer home. In the process had to disconnect trailer and move truck by then I could feel the transmission was slipping already. Anyways Finally got it towed to the Dealership we bought if from a week ago has informed us they would not replace transmission with a new OEM one rather a remanufactured one. Both wife and I are livid considering the truck has 700 miles on it. Wondering what's our options if any here. Wife already made it clear we would not accept a remanufactured transmission on a brand new truck. Especially considering the tech disclosed openly it was gms fault for improperly installing a transmission line. So I'm peeving at the dealership and GM. Anyone know what I need to do to get a brand new transmission? Dealership is apparently lying to us saying they can't get a brand new transmission from gm. Is this true? Funny thing is if that truck had a transmission dip stick I probably would have added a couple quarts of atf to move it 30 feet to get my trailer off that gm roadside refused to tow. Nor would they give me a time when the truck would get picked up. So I went there on my own to get trailer subsequently had to move that truck 30 ft. I guess if your paying a lot of money for a brand new vehicle and the transmission fails at 700 miles shouldn't they be obligated to replace a new truck with a brand new transmission that failed due to manufacture defect or I'm I missing something here?.

We aren't lawyers. I suggest that you talk to one who specializes in consumer law. He can advise you of your rights, and how to go about getting things done properly.

Agreed however is this what it will come down to? Consumers needing to hire lawyers to get companies to honor warranties that screw something up brand new at the factory to get something brand new fixed under warranty? Am I being unreasonable demanding a brand new transmission on a brand new truck and not remanufactured components? I've never had a insurance accident claim on a new vehicle however would an insurance co get away with fixing a brand new car with used remanufactured parts? I'm realizing unfortunately that warranties are only good selling tools on paper not what the manufacturer actually should do imo. Considering the price you pay for a new car. And it suffers a catastrophic failure due to improperly installed components with no fault of your own.
