What is the name for a Sub surface plow?

We subsoil for the opposite reason. It opens up the subsoil layer so moisture can rise during the hot dry conditions.
It’s also good to do before winter so that moisture can penetrate deep into the soil.

I also cut channels with a sub soil shank around our berry bushes, and trees... This to attract, and keep maximum moisture near..

I plan to build a homemade shank with a mole plow type head to leave a better channel than the sub soil shank provides..

You will need a subsoiler specifically designed for the limited TPH vertical adjustment on subcompact tractors.

TPH? I do not know that term. Can a

King Kutter Sub Soiler SUB RR be used? It seems to have a much narrower plow. Thanks

I considered a "home made." Bolt-on attach to rear of box scraper?
