What kind of PU tires should I get?

I've been running General Grabber AT2's on my 03 RAM 1500 4x4 for about 10k miles and am impresed so far. They are much quieter on the highway than my old BFG All Terain's and just as good off-road plus they were over $300 cheaper. I paid $780 for all four 265/70/17's mounted and balanced with lifetime balance and rotation.

Those Grabbers have been a good budget tire for years. I put a set on my 89 S10 Blazer after the factory Tiger Paws wore out super quick. I was impressed. My buddy has a Ford Escort back then and put a set of 175/80/13 or something like that on it and it was nearly as good as a 4x4 truck in the snow. He beat and neglected that little car but it just would not give up.

I've got the same tires. They haven't held up real well for me. Fast tread wear and they pack too quickly for my taste in mud.

But,....they are much cheaper that the BFG's so I will likely buy then again.

Tiger Paws that wore out lol. I got 90k miles out of some on an S10.

I've also seen the factory Michelins on a dodge 2500 go about 90k miles too. Those tires don't have traction for **** though even brand new, dangerous in the rain.

That sounds like the same laws as here in Canada. Are you allowed to run them on a private half ton front or rear?

I run them front and rear on a 2500. Truck rarely gets on the highway though. They have done ok by me so far. I keep them aired up almost to max to help avoid heat issues making the tread come loose if they are loaded down heavily.

I run them on the GM trucks we have. Nice/affordable tire. Mine are US made, we also got a set that were Hencho in Mehico.
I wont put a chinese tire on a truck. Buddy of mine runs double coins on his 450 and they are absolute crap.

Michelin LT for me. 70,000 mile rating and if you rotate every 5,000 miles as i do, you can almost get 80,000 out of them. Have been using for maybe 20 years and never had a flat or an issue of any sort. Buy at Costco or Sam's Club and call it good.
