What makes Farmpro better than others?

Yeah.. I consider anything less than 500 'break in'..

And under 1000 as still 'new-ish'..

Hit 3k or 4k on a compact and you have gotten some pretty good life out of it. on the bigger utility and ag.. i like to see 5-10k

500 hours is not really a lot when it comes to diesel engines...and of course it seems that a lot of the higher hour users don't have much time to post about it here.

Soundguy,,,thats my point,,,,,,1,000 hours is like 50,000 miles,,,[gotta remember we are talking chinese manufactored,,not much q.c. stuff here,,,it ain't like the japs are making it or koreans],,,,,mine has 570 hours,,,that would be like 25,000 miles,,,thats not much,,but enough to tell if you got a lemon,,,,,some have been saying that they got 200 hours on their karmas and just plain love them and think they are just so much greater than jinmas!,,,bull,,,see,,thats my point,,how would they know at 200 hours what kinda tractor they got??,,,they are just stroking up their brand,,[for some reason],,some I can tell,[they are trying to sell these tractors],,,but others,,,for some reason,,want it to be known,,that a karma is better than a jinma,,,EVEN THOUGH THEY CAN'T BACK IT UP BY PERSONEL EXPERIENCE,,,,,,karmas may be better than jinmas,,we don't know yet,,,,any body out there got more than 2-300 hours on a karma??,,,,didn't think so,,,,,time will tell I reckon,,,but,it ain't time yet,,,thingy

I've got just over 310 hours on my 2005 Kama 554 now. I've had the tractor not quite 2 years. (this coming August)

Well,,get another 300 and you all can start,kinda,,a little bit,,bragging,I'm sure them karmas are every bit as good as or better than a jinma,,but some people have came right out and said before they had 50 hours on it that they were without a doubt much better,,I just called them[him], on it is all,,,,plus you gotta keep in mind in this thing,,both are two of the cheapest tractors sold,,so,,,,kinda like comparing which wallmart drill is the best,,or something like that,,good luck with your karma,,3rrr,,hope you get 2,000 hours before you have a flat!,,sound man,,when you going to get you one of those cheap chinese tractors,you sure sound like you want one,,,we know you like cheap chainsaws so,,,you oughta go for it,they got payment plans,,thingy

I actually got a slightly upgraded chainsaw.. not the 14 or 16" basic poulan.. moved up to an 18" bar and the slightly larger engined poulan pro. Gald i did.. it wasn't but 20$ more and I feel it is alot more saw..

I kinda wish i had got one of the 20hp 2wd basic units 6-7 ys ago when the tool shows came around and had them for 2999$.. don't need a payment plan.. i got a credit card... and I've put cheap (old) tractors on it a coupla times (grin)

Those poulan pros are supposed to be good saws,[don't know],I got a poulan before they came out with pro and an echo,,that old poulan has been a good one,,its about 9-10 years old,,wore out two three bars and many chains with it.
Yeah,the good old days,,but northern is still selling the 204 and 254 for same price they did 4 years ago,,amazing!They got[intheir new catalog],,a 82 hp and a 60 hp one,,,25,000 for 82 hp,,,20,000 for 60 hp,,4 cylinder perkins1004 engine it says,,sealed cab,,cat II hitch,,german made LUK clutch,[whatever that means],,,now thats the chinese tractors for you,,no doubt in my mind,,,thingy

The 82 hp for 25000.. hmm... that don't seem like a super deal.. not like a 20-25 hp for 5K or 6K ( which is a good deal ).

Seems like you could get a 'blue' flavored tractor inthe 80-90 hp range in that money range... I don't think my 7610s cost much more than that when new in 2002.. maybee 28k???? .. but it's also 95(eng) hp too.. not 82...

The 82 hp for 25000.. hmm... that don't seem like a super deal..

The nose emblems on the NorTrac 60hp and 82hp photos suggest they're Foton tractors. And Northern has long padded their prices to cover "free shipping" and the outsourced warranty. Rural King sells their FT824 for $18K - with a local warranty.

The numbers on the respective spec sheets don't match up well though. Based upon my own experience with RK however, I'm betting those on the Northern site may be more accurate.

To folks that don't want to make their own transportation arrangements - and who actually may need an outsourced warranty - the $7000 spread might not make as much a difference. On the other hand, $7k will buy a xx254 with - money left over.

Well I agree with sound guy,,,if I had 20-25,000 [0r even 17,000] to spend on a tractor,I'd have to buy a big three or four,and borrow the rest.
Don't know what brand they are,,but northerns going whole hog on these tractors from china,,they must be making some money selling them.
On the other hand,I ain't no farmer.There might be a place for them.
Yeah,the 204 and 254 look to still be a heck of a bargain,,,considering many now have 4-500 hours on theirs with out any problems,,,I'm betting that price won't remain that low for long though,,,you better get you one soon sound guy,,,thingy
