Ok, I've been wanting me some corn and potatoes to grow on my own for a while now. I've decided to make a garden and need to know what size plow I need for my tractor? It's a Massey Ferguson 231. It weighs 4,065 lbs. and it DOES NOT HAVE water in the tires. It does pull a heavy 6.5' disk harrow with ease...
Do I get a 1 bottom or 2 bottom plow? 12 inch, 14 inch, or 16 inch moldboards?? Coulters or not??
The garden will be about 50 ft. wide and 100 ft. long (or maybe just a few feet smaller).
I'm 26 and have never even touched a plow before. Wanting to learn!
Thanks!

Hmmm potatoes. Maybe you need a potato plow (aka middle buster, ~$150 from Tractor Supply). Easy to use and your garden is pretty small.
I used one of these behind a little 2005 Kubota B7510HST (21 hp engine, 17 hp pto, probably 15 hp on the drawbar, 4WD, hydrostatic tranny, power steering) to plow the ground when I landscaped my new house a few years ago.

Regardless if you use a moldboard plow or a middle buster, you need some way to bust up the clods (tandem disc, rototiller). I used a 4-ft Yanmar RS1200 rototiller on my lawn area and smoothed it out with a simple tire drag behind my riding mower.
