My first reply might have shown some attitude. If not, I admit to having one from time to time.
My first wife tried to control everything about purchasing and tried to tell me how silly or stupid spending money on what I wanted was. We lived in the country on acres for probably 30 of our 33 years together. We had horses, a horse trailer and I was forever trying to back my 2wd truck up to a bumper pull pos horse trailer in slippery mud or snow because we didn't need a 4wd truck. Ruined my back because we didn't need a front end loader nor a hay elevator.
Well, now I own a 4wd Jeep Commander with awesome 4wd system, a nice trailer to haul my Kubota and other stuff with, a nice little 27 year old tractor that belonged originally to my deceased brother (bought it from him before he passed on) and now I am building a fel.
I buy a few tools and an implement every now and then. My (current) wife asks me if we needed them and I say no, we don't need them but I do. She gets it. Do I really need it? I tell her I don't need it, but I want it. Then she knows and says Oh, Ok, have fun.
