Liquid Wrench (1) and Acetone/ATF (2), were the top two winners on the Project Farm test of penetrating lubricants.
I have a squeeze bottle of paint thinner mixed 1/4 with acetone. I used it while wearing gloves as a cleaner before i paint things. I'd say this is the chemical I use the most but its not penetrate to loosen frozen things.Liquid Wrench (1) and Acetone/ATF (2), were the top two winners on the Project Farm test of penetrating lubricants.
I remember that also. I can’t remember the winner but I’m pretty sure the WD40 did well. It got a bad rap but I’m not sure why.The Project Farm guy did a video on this for YouTube. The results were pretty interesting as I recall, but I don't remember which product was the winner.
Never heard of it. But that aside, I'm going to be at least a little alarmed if you tell me any aviation mechanic has much experience with rusted bolts!Any of you ever hear of a product called Mouse Milk? ( Real name of product) It is as effective or better than acetone and ATF and was developed for aeronautic industry. It is the best penetrating oil I have ever used on rusted bolts and nuts. It is expensive but you can buy it online. Rusted rotary cutter blade bolts? Put a few drops on the nut and let it sit for 24 hours. A friend recommended it and I thought he was joking. He was not.
