What teams will play in the next Superbowl?

Yep, best football days ever! There is an old saying/question like: ‘Are you playing to win, or not to lose.’ KC and Buffalo were playing to win at the end. That made it one of the best games ever!

And the other games all won by a last minute field goal were nail-biters.

Good times to be a football couch 🥔.

I guess the solution to the overtime rule is to be good enough to prevent a tie. If it is such a tragedy, don't let a team have the ability to run the field in 10 seconds.
Every team has wins and loses during overtime play. Is it fair. Maybe - maybe not. But every team plays on the same field of rules. This is the playoffs we are talking about. There can be NO ties.

I think the best way to avoid the overtime rules is to be good enough to prevent a tie. One team will win. That may not even be the best team on that day. But points on the board when the bell rings on that day is what makes one team a winner. The Bills are a very good team this year. But they did not win, the Chiefs did. I didn't think SF could beat the Bucks either, but they did. Give them a little credit. I thought the Chiefs (like everyone) had lost ---13 seconds. Don't think I have seen such an emotional game. The wrap up after the game, two of the five commentators stated that it was the BEST playoff game they had ever seen. Quite a compliment for both the Bills and Chiefs.

So the comment after all that is - I don't like the rules. There are books of rules. Every team has to know and use them. The thread just turned interesting.

So with the OT rules, there is another way the coin-toss-losing team can still give themselves a chance to win ——-> hold the opponent to only a field goal.

Rule makers probably thought the coin-calling team has 2 chances: call it correct, or have a defense up to the task. How many chances should one be given? Sure, fairness seems to say each team gets a chance. But that then allows for the game to go on for ever.

if you aint lucky and your defense fails, you lose. It’s OT!

The commentators had the best advice. Kick it short so they use up clock and Mahomes has 1 play only. Oh well, that is hindsight now.

That is true. The Bills were the top rated defense in the NFL. They had an opportunity both in regular play and over time to seal their own fate. They didn't, the Chiefs did.Maybe it was luck. But everything about football is talent and luck. And concerning the coin flip, the whole game is started by a coin flip.
It was Casey Stingle that was asked, would you rather have a good team or a lucky one - he answered, lucky any day.
I thought the Chiefs lost. I would not have believed that the Chiefs could run the field in 10 seconds of the Bills defense andt then tie the game. But they did.
But next Sunday is a different game and team. That too should be interesting.

Leaving Kelce open and Hill single covered still has me scratching my head….
Just make the OT like college OT would be a good start

Yep, this is just as foolish as not keeping an eye on Josh Allen or Pat Mahomes. Both operate well out of the pocket. I used to cringe when watching Lamar Jackson. He had more rushing yards than their running back sometimes.

I don't understand why they can't either do college rules OT or just keep tacking on full 15 minute quarters until somebody is leading at the end of the quarter. I would favor the latter.

Chiefs vs Rams
THAT WAS A very close guess back on Dec 13. It might be all the way right - either way, very close. You might win the lottery. But doesn't pay well. Good job. Only one game from knowing.
