If it's an insect you're not going to find out until Spring. Probably the same if its a critter.

Well, I was up again this weekend, with fresh snow, and no footprints anywhere outside the barn so…

You say that this floor is very old and somehow I got the impression that it was built with used lumber. How sure are you that these holes weren't there all the time? Maybe plugged with something that has fallen out?
This is what most of us believe or have said from the beginning. But that theory spoils a lot of fun.

I don’t buy it. If plugs or whatever had simply fallen out, they would be laying on the ground underneath the holes, right? But I have looked and there is nothing there.

Yeah but if it was an animal or insect there would be without a doubt leavings of some sort. Also did anyone use a vacuum? If so the vacuum could have sucked up the plugs easily.

I just received my trail cam in the mail and plan to put it out today hopefully. See if I can start solving my hole mystery. James, if you don't mind, I will post results here. Maybe it will enticed you to do the same?
