^^^^ What Eddie said. I'd find a way to use it in my tractor. For all intents and purposes....... its no different than off road diesel.
Agree that the price is right. My usage is quite low though. I think I average one to two gallons a week. Meaning it will last me five years to go through it! Wonder if the fuel can be preserved for that long.zionview said:You could look for a 500 gal tank with a dyke and transfer it to use for your 'Bota. It's not gonna get any cheaper.
Yes we were. And I told my wife to call them and say not to fill it. She forgot and they filled the thing a week laterWere you on automatic fill?
2*Why did you let them fill the tank if you didn't want the fuel?amirm said:2*Anyway, right before the remodel started, the oil company filled the darn thank and sent us the $1,200+ bill!
4* The general contractor is suggesting that we empty the tank and fill it with sand.
6*I hate to have to pay someone to dispose of that oil.
8*This was end of last year by the way, when fuel prices were cheaper than they are today.
10*Question is, what is the best way to use that fuel to power my BX-24.
12*I worry about how much cost and effort it would take to use that fuel.
In addition, the tank is right in front of the driveway and entrance to the house.
14*So I cant really put in a permanent pump and such and make the place look like a gas station.
He only has $2.40 a gallon in this fuel for his tractor.ampsucker said:... once it's empty, fill it up with the cheapest fuel you can find and let it stay there.

As I explained, it was on auto-fill. We were originally going to keep the oil burner but later decided to switch to different heat. A week later we get the bill for the fill up.LBrown59 said:2*Why did you let them fill the tank if you didn't want the fuel?
What is so dumb about it? I hate to see that fuel sit there and start to leak later. As an interesting aside, his father was worked for a fuel distributor and it was him that told me I can use the oil for my tractor!4*Dumb suggestion are you sure you want him for a remodeler?
Until I post here, my only experience with old fuel was with boats. There, I had read that you had to pay companies to come and remove old diesel fuel from the tank.6*Why would you want to pay somebody good money to take fuel you just paid $2.40 a gallon for then turn right around and replace it at $4.70 per gallon for your bx24?
I have looked into that. But as I said, I can't leave this stuff hooked up in front of the house. And I am thinking that connecting and disconnecting would make a mess with fuel dripping from hoses and such upon removal.8* so why replace it with today's almost twice as expensive fuel.??
10*Get a little ole $99 12 Volt diesel pump from northern tool and a water blocker filter and hook that up to the tank and use it in your BX24.
It is kind of hard to describe. But the house is at the bottom of the hill. Then there is the entry/driveway and right after that (10-12 feet) is the landscaped hill and right there is the tank. There is no way I can get away with putting anything permanent there.14* I don't think a little old pump about the size of a small electric motor and a filter slightly larger than an oil filter is going to make the place look like a gas station.
