What was the FIRST tractor you ever drove?

Gibson model D? I think my dad bought it around 1947, when I was old enough to start it dad let me use it, age 11? That old Wisconsin was a beast to pull over with the starter rope!
First diesel tractor was in high school, I worked at a local commercial green house and had to back dirt wagons down a narrow alley between the glass houses with a swinging drawbar minus the locking pin.

I was a young lad (I'm 38 right now). I do not remember the model but it was a Power King of my dads. He sold that to the next door neighbor and then got a wheel horse that I mowed grass with for years and years. I do not remember the model of that but I remember seeing "8 speed" in lined letters on it.

Edit: looked it up. Looks like a wheel horse 414-8

Wow, talk about flash backs. The very first was an AC WC I was 6 years old a couple years later we got a WD and that was our main work tractor 'til I left home for the service.

My uncle would clean the gutters in the barn in a apron style manure spreader and spread it about a mile down the road. It was 1959 or 1960 and we had two tractors a C Allis and a WD45. He would let me drive it down the road while standing in front of him while he sat on the set. I was only 4 or 5 at the time. Never got to drive the C. At one time we had two WD45's. One narrow front and one wide front. We called them snorting 45's. Loved those tractors.

Wow...this thread is over 13 years old.

My first tractor was an International 856.. It was probably 1970 and I was about 10 years old.

1969 ish, McCormick Farmall IH 760 on my friends' ranch outside of George West, Texas. Used for discing and shredding.
