If this is the major issue in your life, YOU actually have NO Life.

I disagree.

I appreciate information that people share about their experiences at different stores. Good and bad. If it's what happened, its not bashing.

When the TS stores started popping up in my area around 15 years ago they weren't too bad, they seemed to have enough staff to help you if needed and they had some decent merchandise but they have been going steady downhill since then. During the same period many of the other discount chain box stores or what ever you want to call them have pretty much done the same with many of them closing down completly or just turning into Chinese junk shops. When these stores came into the area they put a bunch of good mom and pop farm & feed and hardware stores out of business that had serviced the area for years so I probably won't feel to bad when Amazon and Wal Mart eventually kills them off as well.

They have turned into a "petsmart'' that sells straw hats compared to the TSC's of 10-15 years ago.

Yes, I’m of the opinion TSC is loosing it. Case in point, I needed four new clearance lights for my dump trailer.
We have two TSC stores in our trading area so went to the closest one, and found two in stock. Sales staff had no idea when they would have additional inventory nor made any attempt to find out if additional inventory was on order. Purchased the two they had and motored over to the other store about six miles away. No inventory, and the same attitude, your problem buddy.
Stopped by Carquest on the way home, plesent and accommodating counter man jumps on computer and says yess sir, we’ve got twenty in stock how many do ya need?
Bottom line, slightly cheaper, in stock, helpful sales staff: happy customer.

To any TSC management montering this site i’de suggest you get your shxx together as the completion is eating your lunch.

They recently opened a new Rural.King directly across from the local TS here, the TS is still open but the parking lot is always empty, I think it may be the free RK popcorn.

We have the opposite, circleville Ohio only had a Rural King for years, I never had heard of rural king before, I was only a TSC fan because Lancaster Ohio was closer, I worked in circleville for a few years and stopped in rural king, holy smokes was that place sweet.

I switched jobs about 5 years ago, now out of Columbus so I didn’t travel to circleville very much, a few years later I went to rural king and sure enough a TSC was built just to the left of rural king, on the same side road. Idk what the heck they were thinking, I go to rural king often now that I have cattle, do hay etc and rural king is hopping, hard to find a parking spot without walking a mile into the store lol, TSC looks like just employees vehicles in the parking lot. Idk how much longer that store will hold on, rural king beats them on price and it’s just a better store.

Only think TSC had better was flock blocks and big bags of granite and crushed oyster shells for chickens. Besides that all my business goes to rural king, gates, feeders, waterers, stock heaters, chicks, chick starter, you name it, I have spent a lot in that place.

Tractor.supply is like a Dollar General for wannabe farmers.

I assume you categorize Rural King in that same category?

Please explain this statement.

I called TSC the other day about trailer springs for the gate of my trailer, they have a few isles of trailer stuff and I think they have more trailer stuff than Rural King, they didn’t have any in stock, didn’t know if they could order them so I just ordered them off amazon and waited for them to come in.

Ive come to the conclusion that anything that is in stock at TSC can be found either for less money or in better quality (or both) somewhere else in town. Last time I was in the local TSC they thought they had to get $16.99 for an OEM Briggs & Stratton oil filter.

So when I needed a 3 point hay spear, the first place I went was TSC and bought the Country Line one that they had in stock. Again, it works great!!! .
I also have one of their 3 point hay spears, it's a Category 1/Category 2 hay spear and works every well.
I needed a "subsoiler" this spring and the one at TSC was much heavier than the one at Runnings (other than the 2 piece lower link pins that came apart).
