Sold my mid-life hot rod and bought my first tractor;a Kubota L3130 HST/723 loader.Grew up using 8N's and 9N's for our small beef operation.Don't miss those old tractors at all.Traded the L3130 for a L4240 HSTC and work the same ground for food plots, clearing and snow removal.
Before purchasing Kubota ,I priced JD and New Holland for similar sized tractors.More than happy with Kubota and my dealer.

My first Kubota, and first tractor ever, was very nearly a L6060 cab model. In so many ways it should have been.

I visited the dealer a couple times, refining desired options and adding more implements. I was a cash buyer with a $50k max budget. Each time I waited patiently for the sole and only salesman in a large dealership.

I had an initial quote which was written at full retail price. Since I wanted to make a few minor changes to the configuration, I scheduled an appointment to review my final config and write up an order. I arrived and waited and waited since I had driven more than an hour to get to the dealership. I was told the salesman was tangled up with one of his children in school that morning. Not sure I believed that then, or now. I left and phoned later in the day. He was still not there. I left a VM asking for a written quote. Did not get one. Several days went by, no quote, no return phone call. Totally unsatisfactory sales support, leading me to wonder what would happen if I needed service after the sale?

I bought a Massey 1758 cab tractor instead. So far it has been an excellent tractor. I'm sure I would have liked the L6060 also.

I had a L3130 or something that was geared, sold it for a HST L3240, sold it for a Deere 310, sold it for a M59. I still have the M59 and added a KXO40.

My first Kubota is an L3240HST bought in 2007. I still have it and it runs great. Never had any significant problems with it.

I considered and looked at both Kubota and John Deere, both being local dealers. Having a local dealer was important. The Deere’s salesmen lack of knowledge about the models I was interested in made the decision easy.

The local Kubota dealer has since closed, but there are two more within about 40 miles.

My first Kubota was a B7100HST that I bought in June 1995, $10,850 for the tractor with a front end loader. It was a good little tractor, but no power steering, the front end loader was not a quick attach, so I never removed it. But then in 1999, I was just driving by the dealer from whom I bought it and saw a new B2710, so that tractor, with power steering, quick attach front end loader, and a really nice canopy cost me about $15,800.

I bought my first Kubota in August 2019. Prior to that I owned a Mahindra 2615 I bought in 2008. I also have a JD GT 235 I have had for years.

The reason I choose Kubota and Mahindra for my first tractor is Kubota uses steel for hoods and fenders.

When I shopped both times for a tractor I only looked at those with steel hoods and fenders due to my experience with a JD plastic hood.

My first Kubota was an L260 that had an aftermarket front end loader on it. I bought it because it was offered to me for 2500 dollars in the middle late eighties. It was ok, my first diesel after having my dad's Massey gasser. It wasn't heavy duty but the smallness and versatility of the four speed PTO and size was good enough for the time.

I lusted for a fwd larger machine and found my bigger L4400 with 90 hours on it. Exactly what I wanted with the SSQA, remotes, and drivetrain I wanted.
When I got it, I sold the L260 for 4800, paid 19000 for the L4400. I stepped up to top drawer for the balance and am real grateful the situation presented itself. My machine has been great with no problems at all and easy to maintain. Local dealer support is great with two dealers nearby.

I bought 6 acres in the Pocono Mountains back in 1979 and built a house. I needed a small tractor to move building materials, do some excavating and mow the surrounding 4 acres. I was going to buy a Case 646 with FEL but got a better price on a Kubota B7100HST from a local dealer that just picked up the Kubota line. Kubota was relatively unknown at the time in my rural farm community and their prices were set low to get a foothold in the market. Anyway, the 7100 was MUCH more machine than the Case and I don't regret the choice.

Now, 41 years and 6 Kubota's later, I've expanded the estate to 21 acres which I maintain with my current MX5800HST and L6060HSTC tractors.

The nearest Kubota dealer to Charlottesville was way over in Orange when I bought my first 4wd tractor, a JD 4010. Should probably have switched to a Kubota when it blew apart its driveshaft Ujoint at 9 years and 660 hours.

Next tractor, if I live long enough, will probably be a Kubota B2301. The Orange dealership opened a place in Charlottesville, and there's another one over the mountain only about 30 miles away.

We got our BX2200 back in 2002, and we got tired of crappy gas tractors that were useless.

I was going to trade it about 2 years ago, for a bigger machine, but I've decided to keep it and buy another larger Kubota.
