What was your first Kubota and why?

I was trying to take care of 5 acres with a beat up used Craftsman riding mower. It broke for the last time in June of 1998. I went in to the house ina big huff and told my wife "That does it; I'm going to go buy a tractor!"
The next day, I drove to the closest tractor shop, Gold Country Kubota in Auburn CA, and bought a used B8200HSTD. Had turf tires, 4' Kubota rotary mower, and a roll-over Gannon scraper box. Rented a trailer and brought it home.
Shortly after, came across this new thing, a website. For Kubota tractors. Been a member ever since. That Kubota only site grew in to Tractorbynet. Back then there were less than 100 member. Bird and a couple others that have posted in the thread have been around since back then.
Over time, added a loader, TnT, and R4 tires. That B8200 was a tank! But, 19hp was underwhelming. So we started looking at L3410's. Found a smoking deal on a NH TC40D; sold the Kubota and there you are
I'd get another Kubota if something happened to the NH. I still like them. But this NH has been a great tractor too.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it

L3010. My dad bought it when I was in college. I just used it a ton. Loved everything about it except the pin on bucket.

A family friend had a sign business when I was a child. They had a small 4wd kubota with a 3-4ft bush hog. I was fascinated with it. I recall him telling me the help couldn't break it.
Years later-
My first kubota was a b7510 with r4's and FEL. I found it on ebay for $10k. Had under 10hrs. Drove from SC to Orlando and brought it home. Worked it like a skid steer and it never missed a beat. I've had several other kubotas and a couple of JD machines.
Today I have a B2320, L2501, L3301, L3560 and MX5400. I have a kubota problem!
Years later-

We bought 40 acres of the farm on which I was raised for our retirement home. First building was a garage with a living space intended to be a work area once we built our house. We needed a tractor and after first considering Deere, we went to our local Kubota dealer to check out a B something. My wife pointed out the L3710 sitting on the lot looked so much more capable so we bought it. When we did retire, my wife took pity on me clearing snow while bundled up so the L3710 was replaced by a L5740. The L5740 kept having little problems like setting off smoke detectors due to its smoke and when the fwd seal failed and it started pouring oil out of the clutch housing weep hole, it was replaced with a L6060. It’s still here along with a M7-171, SVL75-2, RTV-900XT, and GR2120.

Must be a time limit for edits so adding here: why I ended up looking at Kubotas. Used to be able to make a mile long hike for Deere parts. Or trailer there for service. Deere pulled that franchise. Then across the bridge and a 20-mile drive. Then they pulled that franchise. Then a ferry ride and a a 30+ mile drive, or a 70 mile drive.. Then.. well you get the idea. By the time they gave all the franchises to Washington Tractor and set one up nearer me, they had permanently lost me. Went orange, and happy I did.

Bought my first Kubota in December 2017 brand new. A B2650HSD and most of its attachments all at once, and about time after owning and living on this 119 acres of forests and fields since 1996. Some catching up to do! Now after 3 years of running it, and 470 hours in, I'm SO glad I got this setup.

My first was a used B8200, 2wd, gear transmission, with turf tires. I added weight and R4's. I got a hugh amount of work done with that machine over the few years that I had it! That was also the last tractor that I routinely had to use the differential lock on.
Unlike you, I traded the B8200 for an L3410, which was a great machine also. Now I have my last Kubota with a cab because I'm into comfort.
