What would you change about your current John Deere tractor?

The only time I remove the loader is once a year when I change the oil in the engine. I'd rather have lots of lift capacity and no wiggle in the loader. I also need more lift which the 110 will provide. I'm torn between the 110 and a skid steer for the lift but since use the tractor in places the skid can't go the 110's a good compromise.

Matt;)

Deere/Yanmar wasn't perfect. My 2210 should have had at least a temperature guage, a real seat spring with adjustment like they have on the cheapest Snappers, folding ROPS, and a separate hydraulic lift for the MMM. Plus shift-on-the-fly tranny like the new Cub/Yanmars have. Other than that it's a good machine.

But I saw the brake pedal was for the left foot. I would on no account have bought such a dangerous machine. I was sure to have an accident either with the tractor or the car on an emergency. I'm surprised they are highway legal.

I have NEVER heard anyone complain about that before! Isn't the brake pedal on the left in your car?

I already find confusing the gears on the left hand when all our cars have them on the right hand.

Our gears are on the right

Here are the pics from my manual showing the controls of the 3520 Powerreverser with pedals like our cars but gears on the left, and the 3520 e-hydro with the brake pedal on the left side (the reason I didn't buy one) and also gears on the left. IMHO it would be much safer if all the vehicles on the road had the controls in the same places.

Seems I'm not the only driver uneasy with brakes on the left side of the tractor :

In using the 2305, I find the seat to be uncomfortable to me though my wife has no problem; sets too low in the back. I have also been unable to get used to the brake on the left and really don't like the flimsy feel of the throttle or FEL control, but have not yet had a problem with them.

JD 3320 eHydro

R1s rather than R4s. And I love the brake pedals (yes plural) on the left, you can use the right foot to control forward and reverse direction and the left foot to brake turn the tractor. For me, the left gear shift on the eHydro is a non-issue, mine stays in "B" range, and you don't shift on the fly anyway.

I have to agree, it would be a lot easier if the brake pedals were in the same place on each model. But, with most people using their right feet to drive, and with needing the ability to operate the seperate brake pedals at the same time as the drive pedals, they have to do it this way. I was cutting my grandparents grass today with their 425 lawn tractor, which is hydrostatic, and found myself punch the forward pedal as it if were the brake. What was even worse is that they live on the water and I was in the process of mowing the water front when I did this. Another foot and I would've been a fish.

Phil, might want to sell that sailboat as I don't think it has any brakes.

Seriously, you must not have tried out the E Hydro tractor either, I have read your interesting posts and feel quite certain you could deal with either type setup.

I have probably 400 hours with a e-hydro and I rarely ever use the brakes.

I use the parking brake more than I use the regular brakes it seems.

The only time I use the independent brake pedals is to get a tighter turning radius and that is rarely, otherwise only the parking brake gets used on my HST rig.
