What would you change about your current John Deere tractor?

Do you use a post hole digger?

Why can't we make a PHD that is Imatch compatible?? Is there that much force on them or what?? All my other implements slide on and off no problem...then there is that PHD...

It would be nice. The biggest problem is coming up with a design of how to keep the "tractor attached" end of the boom coupled to the top center hook on the IMatch. Also, the IMatch may possibly interfere with the driveshafts ability to move fully up and down at the proper angles as the PHD is raised and lowered.

Time for me to play devil's Advocate...:D

The problem isnt the 3rd SCV...its working as it was designed...your using the 3rd SCV for a use it was never intented for. If you want constant oil back there you should have the Power Beyond setup installed...that is made to supply oil back there all the time as you would like.

Also if the 3rd SCV is cable operated like mine is, the inherent friction inside the cable makes it tough to operate the SCV with any precision. Cables are a cheap and easy solution compared to designing a mechanical linkage setup.

By reducing the ROPS height, youd reduce its effectivness...Mebbe the problem isnt your tractor, but your garage door? :D

I had the same problem because the clown who built our place was too cheap to put in 8' tall doors. My brother-in-law and I raised the headers, and I had the door company put in an extra panel which gives me 8'-6" high doors.[/quote]

How about a hydraulic system to lower the rops for stowage? Hit a button - it lower or raises like a convertible top...

Now that would be cool.

You might want to have that checked out...my 3rd SCV is silky smooth..could be a busted cable, kinked cable, etc... all it takes is one good kink when installing it and it will forever be tough to operate. I personally installed & adjusted mine and it works great....(Did you know there is a float Detent on the SCV...I've seen many machines come with the detent not functional because of improper adjustment)

The cables arent a "Cheap & Easy" solution on the cab models, I'd argue mechanical linkage is way cheaper & easier. The reason for cable controls is to completely isolate the levers & such from any vibration...mechanical linkage would introduce vibration on the lever which in turn would make the cab that much more noisy. JD has the quietest cab by far because of this.....

No I do not...Point taken though :) ... I can see that being an issue. To give your side some credit, I absouletly hated hooking up my Tiller before I converted it over to work with the iMatch

I have quick pins on my imatch I had to take it on and off so many times. I finally order some extendable links and never looked back. imatch would much cooler if they made it like a skid steer carrier. Which now I wish I had on all my tractors. Oh well - it was not the deal back then.

I use the I Match setup and it works great for me, all my implements are converted except the phd. In using it for awhile it is apparent to me that it would be more troublesome to use if you don't have top and tilt though. From a safety standpoint if it saves one broken finger or mashed toe it is well worth it.

The skid steer hook up is great too on the 110 tlb combined with the I Match these make changing tools a piece of cake.

I bought my tractor with a hydraulic hedge trimmer on the back (hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic motor) which cost about half the price of the tractor and is to be used about a third of the time. The JD dealer installed it on a 3rd SVC. It's a pity he didn't know it was never intended for that!

Today I welded back on the tube that receives the amber flashing light on the ROPS for the third time this month. I sure will have to think about growing taller trees, if possible without any branches.

By the way the doorway to the garage is massive 19th century granite, not easy to modify.
