What would you do?

Police may or may not come when 911 called.

This was driven home the night of regional looting where the medical clinic was being ransacked along with the mall, auto dealers, Home Depot, Beauty Shops and Pharmacies...

I made repeated 911 calls as the looters were running past with medical equipment and supplies and was told I was on my own.

Several small businesses including a nearby bar owner barricaded themselves in and where heavily armed and it worked... but they are all owners.

This was my wake up call just how quicky things can go sideways and realizing the Calvary ain't a coming.

The Dodge dealership had 5 million in theft and damage that night.

What would you do is a question we hope never to be in.

In my case I barricaded best I could with furniture wedged against doors and flipped the main 1200 amp 480v breaker off and disabled the generator for lights out and it helped.

If the looters had drove trucks and parked them in the street while pillaging, the cops would have been directed to take action?

Twice in the last 2 weeks I had cops at my door asking why I called 911!

I finally figured how that came about, or think so.
Both cop visits were on days that we had heavy rain!

I lost land line phone usage both times and later Bell determined it to be damage* to my wire that had been stretched to expose bare wire and water then caused a short and I now guess that it somehow does an automatic 911 call.
(like maybe a house fire would melt and weld the line)

*Recently crews were cutting back branches and trees that could cause power outages in the area.
I was home at that time and saw the crew yanking a limb that had hung up on my phone drop line and at that time I was so concerned that I checked to make sure they had not cut me off. But since it was a dry day no water (or snow) was present to cause a short. The yanking stretched the insulation to expose bare wire!

At first I thought I was being pranked but now know better.

Kudos to the Bell guy that had to wade thru hip deep snow to replace my drop line and climb my roof that had 3 ft deep snow on it. He went home soaking wet! Also he did all that all in good humor.

Also Kudos to the Leo's for following up on a possible real 911.

Yes… cars in and out of parking lot like bees around a hive…

Cars would fly in, abruptly stop… 3 of 4 doors fly open, occupants jump out… car leaves and back in a few minutes to pick up the loot…

Literally across the street deputies massing on the sidewalk, dozens of them but not available as they are on standby…
