Well, I got the good paint remover and I do have 3 rows of numbers The top row is 5-C-3-B and the row under that is 41014E and the bottom row is C103257D. That top row did have the dashes between the digits. Hopefully these numbers will tell what year it is and verify it to be a 4000 model. Thanks all.
41014E-
4101- All Purpose diesel with vertical exhaust
4- Independent 540 rpm PTO
E- 10 spd. transmission

Thanks everyone for your help! The old girl had a few secrets she didn't want to give up. I guess I must have picked up some HP after finding out I had a 4000 and not a 3000.

This thread could not have came up at any better of a time. It looks like I will be going through the same thing as Woodsman324 in needing to find out what it is. I have aquired my Grandfathers old Ford and will be wanting to get it back up and going. I would appreciate any help in finding model # etc.He passed away yrs. ago and It's been in his brother inlaws barn for at least if not more than the past 10-15yrs. He stated that it was running when parked and it just needed brakes. No brakes would be a good reason were it's at in the hills of WV. I do know that It's a 6cyl gas and noticed that it still had a 6 volt battery in it.Any advice on do's and don'ts would be helpful. First I believe I will pull the plugs and pure some trans fluid or oil down the cyl.and let it sit a day or so.also change the oil and spin the motor with the plus still out.Any chance of having a oil pres.light before I put the plugs back in and crank it  Here is a pic. of the closest I could find I really think this is the same model every thing looks the same.Oh yea no internet up there so just trying to get as much info as I can. Give it a good bath and it woud be real close to this one also.

Thanks
Carey

Looks like a 800 series Ford. I have a 861 that looks just like it. I believe the numbers on it are located on the left side right where the bell housing and motor connect. I bet if you drain the gas and put in fresh, check the oil and put in a new battery she will fire and run as long as the carb is ok. Do not forget to turn on the fuel. If its a 800 series like mine it has a oil bath air filter so check it for critters and service it as needed.

dgl24087 is absolutely correct. it is an 8N with funk conversion. not even remotely close to an 800 series by any "stretch" of the imagination.
