What\'s a Bush Hog RZ60 worth with 4 hours on it!

Hi All,

Was just trying to determine the going price for a Bush Hog RZ60 rotary cutter, used for only 4 hours in neighbors field cutting tall grass. I got one on my new Case DX33 tractor to use to clean-up around a creek bed on our property. It's not going to work for us, so I am going to sell it. I just don't know what to ask for it.

Thanks for you help
Steve

What did you pay for it? I would think a slight discount is in order but only $100 or $200 dollars.

A problem that might arise is that the PTO shafts are custom cut to length to fit your tractor. This might mean that the buyer would have to purchase a new PTO shaft also to fit his/her tractor.

Well I paid like $700 for it. I was thinking I could possibly get $550 to $600 for it, just wanted to ask first.

Thanks
Steve

try trading it back to the dealer where you purchased it new for some other equipment. If you sell it, you will take a major loss on it. Would you buy used without a warranty when you could buy new with a dealer warranty for a $100 - $150 more? I wouldn't. I assume that there is some form of warranty with it now, but is that warranty transferable to another party? The dealer could resell it and give the next owner a warranty.

Re: What\'s a Bush Hog RZ60 worth with 4 hours on it!

Last year I was in a similar position, with a Woods RE60 RFM. It had about 3 of 4 hours on it, and was like new.

I checked with two dealers in my area, and both said they would give me 2/3 of what I paid for it in trade. I decided to take the loss and trade it in, essentially getting a new Woods BB60 rotary cutter with chain guards and slip clutch back.

So my guess that is about the best you would expect to get from a dealer on trade, and maybe less if you tried to sell it out right to a dealer. To a private party...maybe about 2/3 of what you paid or a little more if you find the right buyer...
