Quick and dirty ripper I attach to the 4in1. Made from scrap in about 60 minutes. Handy for cutting through the thatch of Kikuyu grass that grows very thick and tough here. The forks were pretty cheap but probably cost more than $50 in metal alone.

Here is my version of something like that.

That's pretty darn close to what I did instead of a board I bolted on the plow. Thanks for the pictures

Might be a stretch to call this a tool, but how nice it is to see my auger out of the dirt. Easy on / easy off with no strain on your back. Could easily be mounted on a dolly if you have a concrete shop floor. Mine is made from 1/4" diamond plate, and 1/2" x 10" steel tube (fits a 9" auger). I even had a local shop fabricate it - cut with a plasma torch and welded - including materials for $40.

There's a lot of misunderstanding about patents. I have 2, and know a little.
1. A patent will not stop someone from duplicating your invention. It only gives you legal standing if you want to take action against them.
2. An invention can be SLIGHTLY different in function, form or shape and not infringe upon another patent.
3. The patent process is VERY expensive, and a lot of the "lnventors! Let us help you!" are just scams.
I suggest if you want to sell these, make and sell them. Should anyone want to sue you, they must notify you in advance they feel you have infringed, and at that point you can either "cease and desist" or choose to fight. For the $8-10k your patent will cost, you would have to sell a BUNCH of fence pullers just to break even. Just my opinion...... good idea, thanks for sharing. I will make one tonite!

Don't you have to patent an idea BEFORE you put it out in the public domain?? I thought that once you make it public, it was too late to get a patent:confused:

Post puller.

I have a piece of heavy wall 8" pipe with a heavy chain welded to it. Works great for pulling posts and T posts as well. Cost was $12 for pipe and the chain was laying around in the pile.

You have a year from first sale to apply for a patent. I'm not sure which other forms of public disclosure also start the clock. The US is still "first to invent" so having it in the public record within that year is not necessarily bad.

It isn't easy or necessarily best but it is possible to file a pro-se (do it yourself) patent. Filing as a small entity costs about $500. United States Patent and Trademark Office Home Page

My cheapest thing is a hammer holster and a small leather sheath bolted to the loader frame. I keep a hammer and a large adjustable spud wrench right on the tractor at all times. Real handy for changing shear pins, adjusting things and just general use.

You will be hard pressed to get a cheaper one than the 16d nail I use to force a paper towel into the hole around a grease zerk to get the old grease & dirt out.

Plus it is double duty--the tip of the nail can be used to push HARD on the little ball in the zerk when it is stuck & won't take grease.

So now I've got to build a nail holder for my tractor? Won't people think I've gone way off the deep end? :)
