When does it start to warm up were you live?

But look at the bright side. If you need to do work on your dock cribs at the lake while the lake levels are down, this weather is just perfect. If it gets too warm, and especially if it starts to rain, the snow starts to melt, and the lake levels rise, and your advantage disappears.

Should I say that every cloud has a silver lining?

Dusting of snow here this AM. In a normal year I should be mowing the grass in a week.

It must be getting warm in central Oklahoma. Took these last night.

We don't transplant the tomatoes out until the May 24 weekend. Or have corn up beyond a leaf or two.

Supposed to be in the 50's with rain on Thurs....maybe there's hope.

Ha, spring.
Yesterday we plowed 3 ft of snow to access a well that we had to service. Ground is still frozen 4 ft down.
Spring is so late that the highway dept has delayed the transport road thaw limitations by 2 weeks.
Besides, no robins yet, but the maple sap is starting to run.

I feel bad for the ones still getting snow. We had some snow forecast here but they took it out of the forecast. I'm glad they did and hope it doesn't return.

Today it only got to 56F and it's supposed to rain today. It sure is cloudy.

The coming rain will likely leave us with just a few inches on the level but theres still a lot of 4 to 6 ft piles around.
I think I will actually be mowing my grass around the snow piles in a couple of weeks.

By the way, our lake levels are 4 feet below the summer high right now.

Is this normal? I keep a half-hearted check on worldwide weather from a farming perspective. Not that I have worldwide farms, I am just curious to see how other people are doing. I get the impression that there has been more snow than usual in many places during the N. hemisphere winter, but a shortage of rain in those places that do not get any (or very little) snow.

Winter is our wet time but we have had exactly 90mm in the last four calendar months, and a fall of 15mm last week was the heaviest since 28th Nov so naturally the ground is very dry. Fortunately Nov was wet so there is still some water in dams/ponds and rivers, but some streams are not flowing. Next week's temp forecast is high 20sC and we do not normally get them until into May.
