Where can I buy JD wheels for my tractor?

Well, I give up. Never would I have guessed that it would be impossible to buy a set of wheels for a common, and current series, JD tractor except at full list from my dealer. I've called the places that "Shaley" was kind enough to post several times. Both took my information but neither would ever return a call. I called each back 4 times after giving them my information and it seems that neither place has had time to get me prices in the last week. I thought it would help when I told them that I was ready to buy right now. I guess that shows what I get for thinking.

I found several tractor salvage yards in Sikeston, MO and even called several of them as well. I was sort of shocked to find that none of them had any wheels that would fit a JD tractor. At least that's what they told me. I guess I'm naive on tractor parts, but I sure didn't think wheels for a common JD tractor would be impossible to find. I guess you learn something every day...

Yup.... pretty frustrating. I ran into the same situation more or less when I began shopping around for another set of tires and rims. I wrote it off as "Alaska is a very small market".

But as many JD tractors as there out there in the country (world...) you'd think that there would be an after-market source for rims.

Hey --- there's a market niche that's existed for what --- 75 years! And it's wide open for some entrepreneurial go-getter!!

hey Dargo, I was told by the dealer I'd have to have rims made to get the style tires I wanted. I looked many!! places. I ended up chasing down the mfwd for my tractor and finding tires that fit the needed rolling circumference ratio that would fit the rims I had.. If I had listened to others I would've bought new turf tires instead of R4's

This may not help you but I've been there looking for JD rims.. not easy..

I found an extra set of Turfs (Super turfs), for my 4310 for $700 and that is wheels and rubber, and the rubber was essentially new. So i guess I lucked out.

Well, I'm about to give up. It surprises me that I can find decent deals on tires but can't find wheels. I looked up local dealers on the Titan site (that's who made the wheels on my tractor now) and they listed two tire dealers and my JD dealer. Neither of the tire dealers said that they could get the wheels. My JD dealer is sitting firm on $350 per wheel. At that price, it isn't happening. It's a bit depressing, but I've learned to not be surprised at anything in the tractor business.

A thought came to mind but unfortunately, I tried and it does not work for the 5425 tractor using the JD web configurator so I guess I can't help Dargo with this suggestion but for some of you, it may be a solution that will require the assistance of a friend that is buying a new but similar tractor. I noticed that when building a new tractor, you can order under "options for field conversion" additional items including wheels. They are not cheap but seems to be quite reasonable being new and from the factory. For my 3120, it appears that when purchasing new, you can order a new, extra set of wheels and tires to go with it, presumably for field conversion (R1's to R4's, etc.) For my size tractor, an additional set of 4 rims and tires (R1's) would run a little over $1100. Not cheap but not unreasonable either. Now, if only I can find someone looking to buy a new tractor.....

I got lucky on Ebay for a set of turfs also...you just have to keep searching every few days.
The other option is to contact "Hey Wheel" and see what their cost is for a set of rims. They manufacture to your spec. I tried to do a search online quickly but did not have luck finding them. I remember I called them a few years ago and there price was not dirt but was lower than expected. They are out in the western/midwest states as I recall. Maybe someone else knows there number. Just an Idea.

Hey, THANKS jdmar! I couldn't get their website to come up but since you were kind enough to add their phone number I was able to speak with someone. They are not sure they can get what I want, but they were nice and very helpful on the phone. Hopefully they can come through for me. I'm kinda excited again about the possibility of getting a 2nd set of tires for my tractor! Thanks again!

Ebay and machinefinder are the first places that I looked at when I bought a 2nd tire/rim combo for my JD970.

Ended up buying from my JD dealer. If I could have found something that was cost effective --- I would have had one of my brothers pick them up and when I came down for my annual pheasant hunt I would have brought them back with me to Alaska.

Long and short --- I found a couple of sets at a JD dealer in Wisconsin but the price difference was so close that it didn't make good money sense.

Local dealer let me have them for the listed price on the JD configurator and they absorbed the shipping costs. Shipping to Alaska is about 30% added to the cost of any item these days!!!

Same here, looked on Machine finder and ebay, waited out an ebay sale and got the second set for 300 bucks off of ebay price!
