Alright now that was a good one Ernest. Now can I have my biggest bucket crown back? LOL /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi Tools not toys,

Would it be possible to look at your Power Trac before
we order one?

We live nearby Kingston.

I was trying to move a stump yesterday using the grapple bucket. The rear end of the PT kept rising on the ground. Today I tried the 4 in 1 and no problem. The 4 in 1 grabs the stump much closer to the quick attach plate. I had never really thought that the 4 in 1 will actually lift more in a grabbing mode, but it's kinda obvious when you think about. The grapple bucket grabs at the front of the bucket versus the 4 in 1 grabbing at the very back. Just to be fair, I did scrape some mud off of the stump before using the 4 in 1. Still there was an amazing difference in the stability.

Did you try tipping the grapple bucket to the full dump position, then pinching with the grapple and lifting straight up? That would get the load as close to or even under the quick attach plate, I would think.

Moss, I think it was all the way down when I did this. That is how you have to grap something like the stump. It also may be how you grap it. I ended up with a lot of the weight behind the bucket in the 4 in 1. Another good point : You can carry more weight if the bucket front is down.

I have the small bucket with the Markham toothbar. I do not regret the toothbar but I DO regret the small bucket. The small size is a constant frustration. I have never been limited by weight lifting ability. I am often frustrated by the small volume.

It applies to bucket too.

I have both the large light material bucket and the small rock bucket with factory teeth. Sometimes the lage bucket is too large and the wide, flat cutting edge won't penetrate the material I am trying to excavate. Then I switch to the small bucket with teeth. It is extremely handy for tough situations. Once I sharpened the teeth (they are blunt from the factory) it has become a very good tool. The price was cheap, too. It stores nicely inside the large bucket, so it doesn't take up any extra room in the shed. The pallet forks store inside the small bucket. When I back out of the shed I carry the large bucket to a grassy area. Then I look like one of those Russian matroyshka dolls when I keep pulling more attachements out of that big bucket. :D
