which forged 3/8 hooks?

I've never seen a forged hook like that, it looks like a regular weld on one that been cut off.

Looking at it again it does look like a regular hook that was modified. Kind of looks like it was heated and bent.

I can't see why the ones I linked wouldn't work.

Any old 3/8 forged hook with work, but I'm trying to find one that requires the least amount of modification, ak cutting and grinding. The one I showed in my 1st post required no adjustment at all.

Some clothes come "pre-washed", maybe those hooks were "pre-stretched"?

Now I understand. You are building Pintle style hitches.

got any more pics of that groomer.

I have a honda foreman 450 with tracks and about 1/2 mile of trails in my woods that I would like to groom for walking paths in the winter. I keep saying I will build a groomer but 8 years later haven't gotten around to it.

There are many posted on this grooming forum.

Here is the hitches I worked on today. 1st one shows the hooks I need to cut twice, then grind down so they properly work. Then is photos after they are welded.

Bonus question, Can anyone see what wrong on the hitch, in the 3rd one? These are you basic 2" receiver type of hitches.

I was looking at your hitch and was thinking why did you not just go with a clevis style receiver hitch? If you are dragging something there would little chance of being pushed by the towed item. All this thinking was done without knowing all of the hitch design issues/requirements. My random thoughts. SimS
