Which oil pan heater for Yanmar sc2400?

Yup we looked at them. Well lets say we looked at the ones we could see. If I had to take something off to get to the softplug I would not be able to plug in. Seems not all are the same. Pain right in the butt.

Go to the "Phillips- Temro" [makers of Zero start] web site. Look at their on-line catalog. Find your engine model and it will give you the model # block heater as well as the mounting position.

I did this for my Isuzu 2AA1 then took number to my local big truck dealer, they ordered it in for me at cost of $25-$30. Years ago I got one for my Nissan engine from the local New Holland
and Kubota dealer.

IMHO block heaters are more efficient, much cheaper to run, cheaper to buy and far smaller than tank type in-line heaters. My Cummins block heater is only 600w compared to about 1200w-1500w
for a tank type. I run it off a timer that goes on at 3:30AM and off at 9:00AM. Kat's is another brand of heater you can look up. I know a lot of guys don't use block heaters and brag about how their
tractor starts with just glow plugs in low temperatures but I think that for a few cents worth of electricity it's so much easier on the engine to be warm when started.

Hi Rich,
I see nothing on the site. I am going to go with none and just plug in the salamander a little while before I need it. Right now the amount of time looking for a part is worse than the need for the part. My dealer says I don't need one but I don't believe that at all. I have a couple of salamanders may as well put them to use.

I dug through my paperwork on my Sc2450 and found out the part number for the block heater my dealer installed in my tractor.
It is a kubota freeze plug block heater part # 70000-00771
It is a 400 watts and 25 millimeter freeze plug.

Have only a 50 watt Silicon pad (Alaska, Wolverine), to install, brake clean pan, Red Hiheat RTV, duct tape tight and leave, ductvwill come off as time goes by. Clip wire as nessessary. Works like a charm. (50 Watts for 4 liters oil)
