Which pole saw??

For those of you who like Echo, they liked Shindaiwa so much, they bought the company a few years back.
Really good stuff.

I used to be in the small engine business world. Sold Shindaiwa equipment, to me it was the finest equipment made! Especially the saws. I own a 360 and a 488 saw. My pole pruner is a combi tool. Not as long a reach as the dedicated ones, but a heck of a lot lighter!

Forgot to mention, I also sold Echo. They make the best handheld blower. Priced very competitive and easy to work on.

Looking to buy (maybe) a pole saw. Gas, probably adjustable length, $500-$600 ish price range I guess. Brand names I'm thinking are Stihl, Echo, and Husqvarna in that order probably as those are the ones I'm familiar with. I've 2 Stihl chainsaws, and one Echo. Never owned a Husqvarna but I've read some good things about them. Definitely open to others as well
I'm early in my search and would love to hear what you have and how you like it. All ears right now..

I was comparison shopping for months and based on numerous write ups believe Echo builds the best gas pole saw currently available. I own both Stihl and Echo chainsaws and weed whackers and have been happy with both.

That being said I got tired of research and bought a used Poulan electric pole saw of CL for $60 dollars, cut off my problem limbs and put it back in the shed where it is sat unused for over a year. Point being if you are not cutting professionally you rarely need a pole saw. The electric is lighter than a gas powered saw and using my gas generator in the back of my truck my wife can drive me where needed and I am at the perfect height.

Good Luck with your decision.

For just a few limbs I am happy with my muscle powered pole saw. Mine cuts way faster than the one in the video on the first page. The biggest drawback with this is you have to cut limbs close to the main trunk.

I agree. My Shindaiwa 377 is the finest medium-to-small saw I have ever had or used, and I use it most.
Sadly, Echo dumped the Shindy chainsaws when they were acquired. I have also had the Shindaiwa
pro trimmer T270 and a hedge cutter...both used bizarre TK slide carbs, more like a motorcycle carb.

No Shindaiwa pole saws....

Efco is a good brand too. Made in Italy.

I had a very nice new Efco tophandle saw, and it worked very well. Sold it on eBay, since
locals did not know the brand. Someone should try out that Efco polesaw and report back
here.
