He said the same company that makes appliances, but who knows they may have the same parent as the electronics folks.LG the appliance MFG....or LG the electronic MFG?
See how complicated things can be.

Of all the OEM customers that I've had contact with regarding sub-contract work, Caterpillar and Deere were by far more thorough at every step. Initial products would be presented, with meetings involving engineering and sales on both sides, a comprehensive quoting process, qc benchmarks set, delivery demands were set. The latter two were graded. We were audited on a routine basis also. The sum of all of that determined whether we could continue as a contractor. To remain in contention meant lucrative contracts and high volume. The remaining OEM customers, and there were hundreds - the requirements, demands and interaction dropped off very much so to what you describe. We had no contact with the other companies that are mostly talked about here - Massey, Kubota, TYM, AgCo, Kioti, LS. It would be interesting to find out a little more about them.if subcontractors price is cheaper or they are the only ones that can deliver as needed then everyone ignores the quality until the customer complains
That's rough. Some bosses and some companies are like that. Back in the 80s, the company for which I worked had a program where if you submitted a suggestion to save money and it was implemented, , you got something like 5% of the annual savings. One of my awards was $1300. My annual salary was around 10k at the time...it was my first FT job. No unions involved. My cousin worked at a welding shop, and approached his supervisor about a change which would save time and money. His boss implemented the changes and got a significant bonus for it. Keith got nothing, and left his job shortly afterwards.
Yes it is the same company. Those are subsidiaries of the same LG corp.He said the same company that makes appliances, but who knows they may have the same parent as the electronics folks.
Well, lets look at the basics at least. Who makes the engines, anyone got a list..I think that is about as close to the right answer as you are going to get on every Compact tractor made.
IDK about LS tractors, but my experience with a front loader LG washing machine was horrible. The computer fried and none of the local appliance repair shops could get the parts for weeks. Then I was quoted almost the price of a new machine to repair it. I told the repair shop to junk it and bought a genuine US made speed queen washer. Completely made in Wisconsin.I spent some time with an LS Salesman a couple of months back and he told me that the parent company is LG, the appliance manufacturer. Knowing that you can't get service on LG products easily I decided against the tractor and kept my pos Massey.
What is the sense of even putting this list together? Is it going to tell us what engines are best? Probably not. Is it going to change as times go by? Probably. Is it going to help you find parts you probably wont need? Maybe, but probably not. Is it going to be accurate by getting information from some people are mostly guessing? Probably not. Is it going to help you choose a superior tractor? Only if you convince yourself it will. Sorry, I miss the point.Well, lets look at the basics at least. Who makes the engines, anyone got a list..
The tractor I spoke of in Post#8 I purchased in 2006 and was made for Farmtrac by LS and it's never been back to the shop, so at least one has given good service and appliances and tractors are apples and oranges IMO.IDK about LS tractors, but my experience with a front loader LG washing machine was horrible. My neighbor has a 15 year old Montana tractor. These were made by LS. It has also given him good service. And yes tractors and washing machines are different things. I posted my experience to emphasize the issue with getting repair parts from LG (parent company of LS tractors). The few parts that I have ever needed I have been able to buy on-line , but in today's world I realize that could change , the one thing I liked about it having the Mitsubishi motor is that many parts are available at NAPA.My neighbor has a 15 year old Montana tractor. LG is not the parent of LS any longer. It was completely spun off. They don't share anything other than majority owners. That would be like expecting bad service from GEICO because you got the wrong order at Dairy Queen (both owned by Buffett). My neighbor has a 15 year old Montana tractor. These were made by LS. I could be wrong, but my neighbor who owns the Montana told me that parts were available through LS.LG is not the parent of LS any longer. It was completely spun off. Thanks for the info on Montana. I knew TYM made them. I didn't know LS made even more of them. I prefer the Montana color scheme.
What you posted seems to be different than what the Kubota USA website says. I know that my loader was made in Georgia (the tag says so), and based on this website, maybe the engine. Take a look.As far as Kubota, I spoke to their marketing director at a trade show. Kubota only engineers and builds the side by side utility vehicles in the USA. All other Kubota products are shipped to the USA in kit form. This helps with import duties. John Deere did the same thing years ago when they imported tractors from Yanmar. The tractors were almost complete when they arrived in Georgia bolted to a pallet. The John Deere factory only bolted the wheels on it and drove it out. Again, it was playing with tax laws since it partially assembled in the USA.
I have no idea what the relationship is these days, but at one time, yanmar built tractors for JD.
I owned a 3110 yanmar and it was the same as the JD 950 yanmar 3810 was the same tractor as JD 1050, there were also other yanmars that had a JD twin
When I owned my 3110, I would go to the local JD dealer and buy parts for for a JD 950, or 1050 which is the same engine as the 3110 and 950, except the 1050 like the 3810 is turbo chargedThis is the same for the JD 790 and 990 and the 3005 and 4005 which were almost the same tractors 790/3005 and 990/4005. Apart from changes between the models in fuel pumps, Alternator output, and even engine displacement etc, they were all Yanmar through and through. I own a 990 late model so it has some of the parts that the 4005 has and everything is Yanmar made. The things that are not Yanmar made are the FEL and the BH and of course the canopy is JD made. I don't know if Yanmar mad the ROPS for these units, they are fixed and not fold-able. (when I purchased mine the previous owner had cut the ROPS in order for it to fit in his garage. I bought a new ROPS and mounted it.) The 990 used both a JD 430 and a JD 300CX with the later models. The 300CX is made in China. The 430 has about 150# more lifting power so I wish I had that extra lift. The 4005 only had the 300CX. I don't know where the 430 was made but my guess is that it was NA. The 8A and 8B BH are made by a company in NA, Ameriquip Corp, which I beleive makes all of the JD CUT BH's and others like Mahindra's BH as well. https://www.amerequip.com/index.html
