We also used to use battery acid straight out of the bottle to clean the nasty mineral build-up in the barracks' urinals. Worked like a charm but could really do a number on skin and clothing and was non-too-good for the pipes I'm sure.

Could that of been Carbolic Acid. Supposed to kill any germ on floor. walls or pipes.

Surprised it had been 5 years since a update post.
