Who knows about 2014 F-150 traction control?

I've thought about just finding a nice truck from the '90s, but one modern feature I want is the airbags.

Just an fyi... most (if not all) late 90's trucks have airbags. My '96 dodge has one, my dad's '98 dodge has two, and my '97 suburban has two. Maybe not the fancy ones they have now, but they're there.

I'm looking for info what is the newest Ford --- that doesn't have traction control (or worse, stability control)? Looking at a 2006 Ford, it has a "Limited Slip Axle". Does anybody know what kind of limited slip this is? Clutch type, or torque bias type or other ?

2009 was the year that Ford started equipping all F150 models with standard traction and stability control.

I know for a fact that the BMW systems both ABS and traction control rely on wheel speed sensors. So if you drop the right sensor those 2 systems ill go down . (and your dashboard lights up).

SO if you dont find a reliable way to turn off the nannies with factory supplied options you may look at installing a switch for a wheel speed sensor instead of the ABS fuse.

One of my vehicles has assisted energy braking which is nice but it also shuts down the engine. This gets interesting when the situation is allieved and you see/hear a sideways P/U fast approaching your back but there isn't any response from the accelerator.

My 97 F250 HD does not have airbags but the ins co thinks it does. This is the old style F250 and I think it is last year of no airbags at all and it may be alone because the 97 F150's I believe have airbags.

Good stuff, thx for all pertinent info. Interesting on hill descent. So if "descending" and control system is "assisting", and you touch the throttle, there is a lag before engine starts to push again?

Your Titan probably had a ABLS (I think that is what Nissan calls it). When one when slips it applies the brake to that wheel to so the other one with more traction gets the power. When you get a new truck get one with at least a limited slip rear differential. It will give power to both wheels in most situations so you will not get stuck. The best thing to get is a electronic locking rear axle. You pull out on the 4WD knob and both rear wheel have power giving you ultimate traction.

I think the Raptor is the only F-150 with hill descent.

Both my 08 Nissan and 2012 F150 have a simple button on the dash to turn off the traction control. Not sure what you could do about the ABS?

Chris, do you know if, with traction control turned "off", can the ABS still cut the throttle? (2014 Ford F-150)

The ABS doesn't cut the throttle in descent control, you're going down a steep grade.

We have 3 2014 F150 4x4 at work. It rained today and I tried one of them out. I turned off the traction control and spun the tires very hard on the slick road. I also noticed if you just push the button in its says "traction control off" and if you hold the button in for several seconds its say "stabil trac off". (This might not be the exact term)
