Chris, do you know if, with traction control turned "off", can the ABS still cut the throttle? (2014 Ford F-150)

Neve had it off so couldn't tell you for sure.

Good to know Dave, thx!. Thats a definitive test for sure. But its too late for me I already bought an F-150. You can bet I will try all the combinations and report back.

Does anybody have recommendations what's the best F-150 forum?

OK I bought myself a new (110 miles) 2013 F150 STX, 4x4 ext cab, 6 1/2 foot bed, locker, v8, $28,000. This is a nice truck. I'm patting myself on the back for being sensible and walking past the Raptors.

Trying to wire in a GPS and need to find a switched wire in the headliner. Some of these wires are switched but have a delay, can be a PITA trying to find one. Would help a lot if someone's been there done that.

Thats a great price on a truck. I paid about that for a Nissan Titan back in 09 similarly equipped.

Sounds like a great buy. You found a new left over 13? That's probably why the great price, they wanted it off the lot, great find.

Why are you not just hooking the gps up to a cigarette lighter plug in?

Sodo, most I've seen run a new wire. They use an Add-a-fuse, run the wire up the a-pillar and under the headliner. They do this for GPS, radar detectors, and backup cameras. Go over to f150forum.com and do a search for "gps headliner" and you'll find many articles.

They still have at least ten 2013 models, but mine was the only "ext cab" with a locker & 6 1/2' bed, all the rest were crewcab with 5 1/2' bed. I was pretty firm on those features, so they "had me".

I'm certain they want to sell the '13s because they were pretty unwilling to let me look at any '14s:cool: . Which didn't occur to me at the time. Also I forgot to take the position that in 5 months they will be "2 years old". This was 2 weeks ago, and I was pretty much caught up in the moment, as I don't buy new trucks often. It's "AutoNation" in Bellevue, WA.

GPS is "on" full time, don't want its wire hanging around, want it hidden away. I use the Cig lighter to charge my phone, thats enough wires for me.

Found some good stuff on F150forum, thanks! Haven't found a pic showing the headliner down, but I suppose I will. Anybody have comments what F150 forum is the best?

I must have an oddball type of 2011 F150. To turn off traction control, I press the button in the top middle the dash, then I have to press the right "OK" button on the steering wheel within a few seconds. The TC then becomes disabled and the light on the TC dash button will illuminate, until I turn off the ignition. Its a Lariat crew cab. The only time it is useful is when I need to spin the tires in snow or mud. If I use it on dry pavement and stomp on it, that Ecoboost will light up the tires and that gets expensive.

$28K for that truck you bought Sodo is a great deal. I assume that's the 5.0 V8 you got, good engine.
