What type of certification/license do you need to fly that machine?

A mind, two eyes, two hands, two feet, a good sense of gravity and absolutley No Fear /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

And hopefully a helicopter rating on your pilot's license from the FAA in the USA.

This is somewhat topic-related I guess, in a way ...

Thom et all - I used to have that same problem with edited quotes getting mangled and appearing in the thread as if someone had barfed on my screen.

It made me dread using quotes, really slowed down my posting and editing, and was in general a very large carbuncle on my posterior.

In my search for a solution, I came across this thread ("Quote") that contained an EXCELLENT solution. Forget the "quote" function, which gets mangled in translation, and indicate quotes by using a blue font color, which gives the exact same effect just minus the (). It works like a charm, and I've never looked back. Try it, you'll like it!

Sky, Is that you at the helm? What are you totally NUTS! That things a death trap

Jim, it actually is safer than driving my motorcycle across town to the airport.

I only have to worry about one idiot's mistakes once in the air, my own!!

LOL /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Although sometimes once aloft, I do wonder about the TIG welders skills, especially when pulling a couple of G's..... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Read the materials at their website and it seems to say that landing roll is 0-15 feet, but that "...with the pre-rotator the RAF GYROPLANE can take off (ideal conditions) in as little as 75 feet. If the aircraft is fully loaded you could be looking at as much as 350 feet."

Did I misread? What about takeoff/landing on slope?

It depends on the wind speed and wind direction and the direction the gyrocopter is facing, those figures you quoted are with no wind speed or direction....a 5-10mph ground wind makes a huge difference.
