Why do tractors cost more in New England?

Dealers in MA. in my opinion feel that we are all rich and will pay whatever the asking price is. Hence my going out of state to find a used tractor. I also priced a new machine last week from two dealers owned by the same company. The price was $1350.00 cheaper in R.I. than in Ma. Shipping was free from R.I. Vermont was where I headed to for my tractor today.
I also bought my 2000 Chevy S-10 Blazer 4Dr, 4WD, p.s., p.b., air, cd, power moon roof, p.w., 4wh p.d.b., p.l., abs from Vermont last year for $8500.00. This was $4000.00 cheaper than any dealer or private party in Ma. without the power moon roof and the same mileage. I figure they must be collecting fees for the upcoming Democratic Convention in Boston. Hahaha. We need another Boston Tea Party

Junkman,

My mistake. I didn't realize that number of posts equated to anything more than amounts of spare time and a love for typing /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I am very aware though of how the "printed" word comes off to those reading it. I know this because I have spent oodles of time upsetting many people by what I have written /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif just not here and not yet. Well maybe once. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Please realize that I would never confuse TBN with the Gospel. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif The Gospel teaches me how to live. TBN teaches that the most important attachment to a tractor is a welder and broadband internet. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

And finally, you are completely wrong. Fences don't make good neighbors. They are lousy at conversation and they won't share their beer. In essence, they are just plain stuck up.

Mike

( KiotiJohn,
Florida is a bunch of Yankees realizing how great the South is.
If you go into the cities anywhere North, South, East or West people have time only for themselves. ) Well, I was born here in Florida and have loved many other cities and have found so many nice people in all of them. I try not to notice when people are not friendly, and I try not to be judgemental because I know people have "things" going on in their lives that affect the way they respond to life. Yankee, Southerner, Midwesterner, Westerner, whateverer, we're all people, and I love people. Even you CCI judgemental as you may be. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif (just a joke before I get blasted). John

How'd ya make out, JimR? Assume you might have dropped by Pittsford. If so, hope Bro Giddings made you "and offer you can't refuse." /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I'm lookin' forward to having another happy 'Bota owner in the neighborhood. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The wife and I decided we had better go used for now. She wants a new kitchen. I bought a 1995 Cub Cadet 7275 Hydro on Saturday with 5' FEL, new loaded tires, 6' MMM, cab and 6' 3pt scraper blade for $9300.0 delivered. All the filters and fluids have been changed also. She runs nice, I didn't see any leaks and the front end is tight. It will be delivered this week once the new tires are put on.

Congratulations on the purchase. Please post a picture of the new acquisition when it arrives. I am certain that you have made a wise choice. It will do everything that a new machine will do and the money that you have saved will allow you space for other more important things in your lives.
I don't know where in MA you live, but if you are in the Central MA (Southbridge/Sturbridge) area, join us for one of the Central CT/MA TBN Thursday Lunch meetings. We will be meeting this Thursday at Noon. Send me a PM for more details. Anyone else in the area is also welcome. For those that can't make a weekday meeting, we are planning a weekend cook out meeting soon as the weather gets warmer.
I might even be able to give you some help on the kitchen project.....
