Your barn is similiar in size to mine. Mine is 24x40x10. I paid $8,000 for my barn and $2,000 for the concrete work. I had two 12x8 doors installed and two windows. The windows really set it off and make it look like it belongs in a residential setting as opposed to a commercial look.

The big difference for me was that the two-man team I hired was in no hurry. They never worked more than eight hours in a day and spent about a month building the barn. (not including concrete)

The $7415 does not include concrete, fill stone, or insulation. I am finding that this can add to the cost quickly. I already have 120 tons of stone in the drive/barn and still need about 80 tons. I agree with you it does need some windows. I will add that to my list.

Your builders did a terrific job. I like the two tone look. I'd be thrilled with the building.

Mrwurm,

Nice building. "?". Is your overhang vented all the way around or did you mix between vented and non-vented. When mine was built I was told it was good to vent all the way around, which I did.

That looks like a great building just about what I am looking for. I have been leaning toward a metal truss building myself but the cost is more than double what you paid just for the kit without installation. What did the kit you mentioned include was it the complete structure with trusses siding etc. Sounds like a super deal.

I am located in Indiana also and am looking to build a pole barn soon. Could you post the information on the company who built your barn.
thanks

Very nice. My building is 28x32x8 with one 16' door in the front. I too have to do the concrete thing but need another 20 tons of gravel first. I have about 8000.00 in mine. I was given a bid by a guy that works with the Amish, but it was not even close to this, more like that much just to provide labor, but the time to build was about the same. I did all the excavating work with my 2200, fel and tiller, and wound up about 3.5 feet in the ground at the back. I have a seperate electric service to the barn so the box electric had to be done by an electrician, but I ran all the circuits etc.

Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. It is my doghouse that I DONT mind being in

Hey Mark, I don't think it is a violation of the forum rules, The company is Davies County Metal Sales. The $7415 was material, labor and tax. No site work or concrete. The concrete added another $1800. Davies County Metals has a web site. They dont list package prices, but it does kinda give you an idea of whats available... Davies county metals
