I bought my first new tractor in 1971. I also bought a new pick-up truck later that year. The tractor was almost double the price of the pick-up. 35 years later, I still own the tractor. It's worth approx 25% MORE than purchase price in '71. Pick-up is long gone. I'm on my 9th truck SINCE that '71 model. Tractor still works almost every day. Pick-up might be worth something to a collector, had it not been trashed using it as a farm truck, but likely ended up being melted down long ago.
A GOOD tractor will outlast most any pick-up truck as far as it's working lifespan. Maybe we need to compare HP/hours per dollar?
