YES, it's a real problem. Men being outpaced in the labor market. EXACTLY as you describe. FEW woman are interested in a man that makes less than them.
Growing up there were the happy to be married and miserable...
Guess probably the same since marriage was invented.
Maybe the difference now is a lot of professional women out earn men and this keeps some in the never want to be married camp.
