I have noticed a number of manufacturers have economy model CUTS at very attractive prices compared to their premium models. However, I haven't found one yet that has synchronization in both the shuttle and main gears (maybe I haven't looked hard enough yet). That would be a stumbling block for me.
Could it be that the synchro trannys cost quite a bit more to manufacture than the sliding gear trannys ?

When your asking about syncronized trannys are you refering to changing gears in forward i.e. 1st to 2nd to 3rd? or Forward to Reverse? I know mine (JD5103) is syncro'd between 2nd and reverse. They swapped 1st and 2nd so you can go from forward to reverse easily and at a reasonable speed for loader operation.

Yes. When you see them torn down a fully synco transmission has many more parts involved.

yeah you need to check out the new holland T1530, it is 45 hp, and it comes standard with a 12x12 syncro shuttle shift. nice tractor
