Why no QA bucket on the CK2510?

/ Why no QA bucket on the CK2510? #21
About ten years ago I had a CK20 and wanted to add a grapple. Turned out that the simplest solution was to add a Horst QA adapter which I did. Never looked back. Besides the grapple I got a tree boom which has been very useful, QA forks, 4n1 bucket and even a neat adapter that allows 3PT implements like a rake to be mounted on the FEL. All these implements are now used regularly on my DK.

I don't think anyone would regret having a QA adapter.

rgrillin, do you have any more pics of this setup? I called my dealer I bought my tractor from and he said the QA plate and bucket would probably run me around $900. Does that seem like a reasonable cost? I believe he would sell to me at his cost, which would run him around $700 but he said it would cost to get it shipped.
southernAl, I almost bought a used Ck2510 but then realized it would cost more to modify it with a QA and weld plates on the existing bucket, plus I wanted the hydraulic outlet option so I could run a grapple. So I just decided to just purchase a new one exactly the way I wanted it set up for about the same price. Though the dealer did quote me $700- $900 for the QA setup if i were to have set up the used tractor, I think the difference in price was whether or not they welded the plate to the bucket. There was no extra charge for the QA SETUP from the dealer on the new CK2510. I dare say they are all now coming from the factory with the QA as standard (the ones built after Aug 2016), but I could be wrong!? Though they are definitely an option now...

A SSQA adaptor is the way to go, if nothing else than for resale.

Did they give you specs on how much the loader can pick up? I wonder if its the same as mine without SSQA. What dealer did you buy from? I see your from GA

So far the only specs on the loader are the ones online that cover the original fixed bucket, I have read the tractor manual just for fun, but I haven't delved into my loader manual yet, specs might be in there. I would guess you might lose 80 lbs +/- due to the QA option of course depending on how much it actually weighs, but I would never notice moving up from a Kubota LA302 loader with a lift capacity of only 660 lbs. You are correct, I'm in middle GA, but it was cheaper to purchase from D&L Equipment - Kensett, IA. They were over $2K cheaper than the four dealers I contacted here in GA. Had it shipped by U-Ship with some guys that were on their way back to Florida from up that area, so they hooked me up with a super cheap ship deal (cheaper than I could drive up there and back.) I purchased a new CK2510 with QA loader, rear hydraulic valve, and CM2510 60" mower deck (which are also available now) for less than it would have taken me to modify a used CK2510 to have the same setup. I did the math and made lots of calls...

You will lose the added SSQA weight in lift . Plus the difference in lift due to the load being slightly farther out. But being able to switch attachments is worth every bit of the loss in lift.

I change SSQA attachments nearly every time I run the tractor. It literally only takes seconds. I can't see every buying another tractor without SSQA.

That being said, figure out what attachments you will want and how much those attachments and the SSQA plate will reduce your loader capacity. This is something you want to give some thought to and pick very light attachments given the size tractor you are looking at. If it were a larger tractor, it wouldn't matter so much.

If you are going with a 25HP tractor. You may also want to look into the kind of attachment plate and attachments that a guy on here that goes by Axlehub is using. He has a SCUT and has some very light attachments for the loader but I think they are something other than SSQA. I'm not recommending those, I'm just saying it's an option you should check out. I don't know much about it.

Well, I called my dealer today and pulled the trigger on the SSQA plate and bucket. Should hopefully have it within the week. It seems like a pretty straight forward job to convert it over. Is there any suggestions?

Not really, it is pretty easy, Not something you want to do several times a day, but not bad.

Only suggestion I have, Don't get to angry at yourself for not converting to SSQA sooner. :)
