Why pay more??

You are asking a serious question, right? No. I know of none. 3 pt hitches? yes. Drawbars? optional and/or aftermarket. At least on scuts and cuts.

I was asking seriously. My little Mahindra which I often have read is a third tier tractor has a draw bar. Granddaddy's old deere had a draw bar. After scanning this thread I began to wonder if some tractors were sold without a draw bar. Just curious. I learn something new each time I read this forum and thought maybe I had stumbled upon something.

Maybe it was just the particular dealer, but my new 1995 Kubota B7100 came without a drawbar and I later bought one; kind of high priced, too.

And of course, if I were selling New Hollands, as is the originator of this thread, I, too, would wonder anyone would buy other brands.:D

Might there be a different opinion on the definition of drawbar here? Some may call the pin mounted bar under the tractor the drawbar (myself included) and others feel the attachment with mult. holes that mounts across the lift arms the drawbar.

You're right, and the pin mounted one under the differential is also called a "swinging drawbar" because on many (not all) tractors, it can be "swung" to one side or the other and pinned in place.

In my case, my little B7100 came with neither. I bought both later. But my B2710 did come with the swinging drawbar.

After reading some of these posts and what some are saying this is standard and that is not. I am wondering if people see a tractor on a lot and that is what they think is standard while in fact the dealer has ordered the tractor with some options that he thinks most people want. And then there are different models of the same make with the same HP.
Lets call them Economy models and Deluxe models. Now they each come with standard stuff, BUT IT IS NOT THE SAME STANDARD STUFF ON EACH MODEL. I think that sometimes people get thinks confused  while they try to compare things.

+1 MtnView!

For reference I have been looking at economy HST tractors in the 30 -38 HP range and seem to remember that the new E series from Deere do not come with a draw bar (fixed) as standard equipment and its about a $300-$400 option.

For the orginal poster, I believe the location of the buyer plays a crucial role in tractor purchases. There in Texas, I might find a blue tractor may be the cheapest with all the features I want. Here in New England, I've found orange to be the most economical, including all added features that I require.

CrashZ you are exactly right. Different places in the country have different things that are popular, but you are right the Deere 3000E series is what people around here see. the E series doesnt come standard with a drawbar, folding rops, some critical dash gauges, and a few other skimpy things. The tractor is not even made by Deere which they claim of course. it is a Yanmar....nothing wrong with Yanmar but dont take someone elses credit....

If that is the case, why is new Holland taking credit for Shibaura? Mahindra "takes credit" for Mitsubushi. Bobcat takes credit for Daedong. Massey takes credit for Iseki. The list goes on. I've tried, but I can't decipher this thread at all.

As far as I know, Kubota and Kioti are the only ones who make all of there own stuff and are the only ones not "taking credit" for someone else's machine.

I have always thought a draw bar to be the bar mounted under the. Of course I've been wrong before. Actually quite often.

Wow! good writing. You gotta know that the next responder might bring up the reality that even Kubota no doubt farms out a whole bunch of stuff to suppliers and tier 1,2,3, people. But your over all point is very well stated.
