The first time we went to Maine my wife said the same thing. I told she had to not talk soooo much because they hide when they hear ya comeing /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I dont know what hit me next but I think it was Moose related /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif The Last time I went BackPacking On Isle Royale I saw two young Bulls in small stands of first growth timber. They are comical and not the Brightest animals. It is very amuzeing to see a several hundred pound animal try to hide behind a 3" sapeling and peer out the other side as If to say " I can see you but you cant see me" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Lol. They both did that. Years Before I saw I cow moose swim with her calf out to a island then leave the little pudger there. She swam back and then called for the calf. You should have heard that guy balling. It was really something to see. I once was hikeing In the same National Park and came over a hill and stood face to face with a cow with two calfs. Moose, especially moms and rutting bulls can be very pugnaceous critters and I suspect it was rather humorous to see a fat man run with a 60# back pack and hikeing boots. The only one we ever saw in Maine was In Downtown (ok not much of a downtown) Cape porpouse. Dave

By chance when you and the Mrs. visit NH,did you travel from Colebrook,NH to Canada border..better known as Moose Ally,or from Colebrook,NH on rte 26 to Errol,NH than down rte 16 to North Conway,for thats another fine area to see Moose around dusk..also Loons & Eagles at any give time.

For as those big boogers{Moose}they can blend in,also stand silent like a tree..well until they had enough. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

PS..If one travels from Colebrook,NH to Errol,NH on rte 26,there a tractor grave yard /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif arces and arces of yesterday iron plus attachments /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif..a true tractor junky dream. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's for sure. Incidentally, on our trip to West Virginia and back this past week, we saw at least 7 freshly killed deer; 6 on the shoulders of the road and one in the middle of a traffic lane (all Interstate Highways), and some additional older remains as well. There's too much traffic, even between 1:30 a.m. and daylight, to use the high beam headlights very much, and sure easy to overdrive the lights on low beam, so that part of the trip I did not care for.

Hi Thomas!

We did travel part of Hwy. 16 to North Conway, but I don't recall what other roads we might have taken. We had been in Jackson before going down to Conway.

It's not like she had not seen "wild" animals before. We see deer all the time around here. But she had never seen a moose, and she was disappointed that she didn't see any during the trip.

I told her that the next time we planned to travel out there, I'd let my TBN friends know that we were coming and they'd make sure that she saw a moose when we got there. She asked me "How are they going to do that?"

what is SO ? I get the former spouse part, The only thing I hear from my X is "wheres the $$$$". lol Seriously I do admire the Gold Wing Guys they are a dedicated bunch that love to ride. I never saw the attraction but I completely agree if youve got the wind in your face what else matters ? I think in regards to buying American one of the best things we can all do is buy American food products and support our farmers. Simple things like pasta, Muellers, Ronzoni, etc. I actually heard on the news last night that less than 13% industrial now. That doesnt leave much room. Any how I hope to be in better graces than the X should we ever meet /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Dave

Doc,

I hope that your relationship with your "X" improves, especially if you have kids. It makes things so much easier if you're on the same page. We used to tease that it was 'us against them' and we had to stick together. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My former spouse remarried recently and I even got them a wedding gift - a Vegas vacation package. When she first told me she was getting married the very first thing I asked her was where I needed to go to be measured for my tux. She asked me what I was talking about. I said, "Well, I thought I'd be there to give away the bride. After all, I was the last one to have you. Your Dad gave you to me and it's my job to pass you on, isn't it?" /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif She never had a full appreciation for my sense of humor. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
