Wife Gave Me The OK!!!

Welcome to TBN.... congratulations on impending purchases
Suggest you fill out your profile on TBN.. else we'll never have a clue about what you are trying to do with your equipment.

I love 4wd
I love HST
I love my rear work lights and my extra front work lights
I love my 3 point hitch carry all
Chain hooks on bucket and carry-all are critical
hydraulic top link is fabuluous (requires rear remote)
Suggest two rear remotes although 1 is better than none.

Quick Attach bracket on FEL is a must... what else you going to put on the front??

You might consider PATS system for easy attachment of rear implements

It's the little things that turn out to be oh, so useful... and at 35 years of marriage, perhaps, like me, you are beginning to value your body more... and your tractor will be a superb assist to keeping your back in better shape.

We don't have enough information to comment on suitability of your tractor to your needs and purposes.

Get the HST. You also need a read blade (7ft) or a box depending on use.

It makes sense now why she gave you the ok ,you are retired she wants you out of the house staying busy :) . I always say it is not the amount of time you spend with your wife but, the quality of the time.Or is that what I say about my tractor ?

Each to their own, but I am looking at the items you are considering and trying to figure out what you will do with them with only 1 acre to manager.

Is this over kill? My first thought is you have gone way by mid-life crisis so what can be the driving force?

Just seeing the tractor and the items you are thinking of buying I have to ask what will you do with them? Where will you store them? Do you have other land that you plan on using the tractor on?

Why a post hole digger? I would think that you could rent a post hole digger for the one time shot that you might have to dig a few holes for a fence around 1 acre!

The backhoe is also a great item to own, but I would think there is just limited work for it on 1 acre of land and you could also rent one for the weekend that you might have to use one or hire someone to come in and do the work be done with it.

A tiller is another item that might be just a bit of over kill with one acre of land. At most you would maybe use it once in the spring and then maybe once in the fall to clean up the garden area?

Box blade is nice to have if you are doing landscape work or maintaining a dirt driveway, but with one acre of land how big can the driveway be and what else could one use it for?

If you are only working on the 1 acre maybe a small / cheaper tractor might be the way to go. Something in the BX size and use the left over money to take you and your wife on a vacation of a life time?

Bottom line for me would be I could not justify the cost of the tractor for this little amount of usage. Just my two cents trying to spend your money!

I have no clue as to your projects, but the one acre rang my bell.

Tailer too, so I assume you and the misses will be hauling it.

If it is for projects around the house, the one acre, I'd downsize and take your wife on that vacation.

You'd have a new tractor and some more leisure time to think projects over.

Your are a lucky man. Go immediately to the dealer, do not hesitate or stop for any reason, buy your tractor before the boss changes her mind.

Congrat's but I gotta say that it seems like you are buying a lot of machine unless you have big plans for your 1ac. If you post some of the things you want to do the guys here may be able to give you some valuable feedback about whether or not that is exactly the machine you need. They have saved me from making a buy that was not appropriate for my place - it's worth it to be safe and sure.

Good luck.

Digicam,

Have you researched what works best for what you want to do? Are you considering other brands too? There are excellent comparable packages in both sub-CUT and CUT categories by many manufacturers that would probably work for you. There are many that probably fulfill your needs for much less than the numbers you have given us, and still leave some money for that anniversary.

I manage the same 12.5 A's with my 29/23+ HP tractor as I did with my 13/11+ tractor. I now can do it more quickly and I can approach my tasks more directly. I will add that the cost of attachments is higher with a midframe size tractor than a small frame . I do miss the "little guy" when I am in my woods . Jay
