If you are still considering buying anything larger than a sub-compact for use on your one acre you might want to try a tractor of size you're considering on you lot. Consider renting one, the rental fee will be small compared to the cost of buying the wrong size tractor.
We have two acres, combination of lawn, brush and woods, and several years ago rented a 35 HP John Deer (don't remember the specific model) for some landscaping work. I got the work done but concluded it was too big a tractor for the areas I was working in - the length, width and turn circle were all problems. So when we recently went tractor shopping size was important - not how big a tractor could we get but rather which was the smallest that would do the job. We settled on a BX2350 and I expect with appropriate attachments it wll do everything needed: moving snow, maintaining a gravel drive, leveling a very lumpy lawn, mowing a 1/2 acre of brush, pulling dead trees, hauling stuff around, and moving trailers (no lawn mowing). And so far it's a lot of fun.
