My wife retired today after 20 yrs and 8 months with the company. She is in her early forties (did tell her I told) and has decided to go back to college full time. She has been taking a few classes every semester for about 2 yrs now. We were at a point in our lives where she make the change and complete her degree faster. I'm so proud of her for making the commitment to getting a higher education later in life.

With all the extra class assignments we all know who is going to start doing the cooking and house work!:D

That's great! I tried to get my wife to do the same thing - actually tried to get her to go to law school ----she has that kind of brain and is good at that type of thing. (so she could support me better in MY retirement:rolleyes: )... but her response had something to do with having to work with them everyday and why would she want to be one of those? The actual words she was using are not repeatable here.

Is getting a degree just for personal satisfaction? When I retire, I don't think school work will be on my list of things-to-do.

Add my congratulations. I got my degree after I turned 40. A couple half hearted full time years after high school, dropped out for 10 years, then 10+ years of night school. I had worked my way up to the point I didn't really need the degree. But it was sure satisfying when I finally got it.;)
