I'm with Moss on this one. Every top loader I have owned never walked on me. I level it and forget it.

My front loader doesn't walk either. Never had an issue with that. But it does sit on a concrete floor in the basement. It's amazing how fast these front loader washers spin. Crazy fast.

I built a platform for clients that was tall enough to slide cases of soda under their washer and dryer. If my memory is right, I think I went with 2x8's on edge and 3/4 plywood for the top. It was a pain getting them up there by myself since my clients where elderly, but that might have been because it was a tight spot and not a lot of room to work with. Don't forget to cut out a hole for the dryer vent if it's below where the new deck will be.

They love it. It was more for storage then bending over.

I had another client who wanted them up as high as possible, so I put them on a cabinet. Her husband helped me get them up there. But then when she went to use her washer, she realized that the controls where up too high for her to see what they said without getting out a stool. She tried it for awhile, but then hired me to put them back on the ground and build some shelves above them for storage instead.

Good info, my wife is vertically challenged also so I will do some measuring before I start the project.

Thank you

I built the stand for our w/d when I built the house almost 10 years ago, we have front loaders and they wanted $150 each for the stands. I built mine from 2x6s and 3/4 plywood. I built two frames on top of each other, the lower about an inch or so smaller so I ended-up with a toe-kick like cabinets. It sits on a concrete floor. The 2 frames make it right at 11" high and is an ideal height for me or my wife. I put a 3/8" thick strip around the perimeter to keep them from sliding off but in 10 years we've never had a vibration problem and this is our second front loader on it. The washers have never moved whatsoever on the deck. I left about 2" between the washer and dryer. Gloss white paint has held up well. No noise problem either. Would not go back to a top loader, these front loaders use much less water and get your clothes cleaner and get more water out before having to go in the dryer which saves money.

i bought a used washer years ago, it looked like new: would walk completely out of the house no matter what i did: so i carried it to an elderly gentleman that did a little repair work: he called the next day and said it was ready: inside the washer, were some pins that held things stable while shipping, they originally had flags on them that said, remove before use: so the previous owners had removed the flags: not the pins: that washer worked great for many many years, cost $25. and $5 for the repairs:
