Will cheap oil ruin my tractor?

Isn't Gulf Coast still making the paper towel by-pass filters? I think they still have an add in the boat mags. I read a story about one in a yacht trawler. I guess the rump ribbon is for smaller engines. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think I have one of those spouts stashed away in the garage somewhere, I will have to look.
I also have a toilet paper filter, but it's not for oil, it's for air. It collects the moisture and oil from my air compressor before it goes to the main air line. Works real good too.

I seem to remember seeing an ad on t.v. about, i think, Slick 50, where they added Slick 50 to the oil and then drained the oil and removed the oil pan. Then the ad people started the engine and warmed it up with NO OIL in the pan as the engine had no pan.
Wonder if my Kubota would survive? Maybe I should try it on my old 4010 JD. It has alot more hours on it!!

I'm with you John. I've never had a problem with a Briggs engine.
